Joe Biden’s poll numbers continue to sink.
The steady downward spiral is forcing Democrats to acknowledge reality.
In fact, Joe Biden’s terrible poll numbers have led Democrats to make a devastating confession.
A Marist poll released after Biden delivered the State of the Union speech showed Biden’s poll numbers shooting up to 47 percent.
That fueled talk in the Democrat Party and the corporate media that a Biden comeback was in the works.
However, the latest Marist poll – released a little more than one month later – shows Biden’s approval rating has tanked back to 39 percent.
This Marist survey tracks with other polls which all show Biden’s approval numbers in the high 30s or low 40s.
But the worst poll for Biden is the Selzer/Grinnell College survey that found just 34 percent of Americans approve of Biden’s job as President.
Democrats now realize the cake for the midterm elections is largely baked.
One strategist confessed to The Hill that “it’s bad” and that the American people have lost confidence in Biden’s ability to lead.
“It’s bad,” the strategist told The Hill.
“You have an energy crisis that’s paralyzing and inflation is at a 40-year high and we’re heading into a recession. The problem is simple. The American people have lost confidence in him.”
The strategist added that Democrats are going to get “slaughtered” in the midterm elections.
“Everyone needs to come to terms with the reality that we’re going to get slaughtered in November,” the strategist added.
“That’s a fact. His polling has gotten worse not better. It’s indicative of the fact that people have lost confidence in his leadership. There’s nothing they’re going to be able to do.”
Democrats who run think-tanks have also begun to grapple with the reality of Biden’s failed presidency.
Chair of the Brookings Foundation and former Clinton White House domestic policy advisor, Bill Galston, predicted that inflation – which continues to surge with no end in sight – would act as an anchor on Biden’s approval ratings.
“My hypothesis is that, unless and until inflation comes down appreciably, that there’s going to be a ceiling on his job approval that’s a lot lower than the White House wants it to be,” Galston stated.
The executive vice president of Third Way think-tank, Jim Kessler, admitted that Biden’s low approval ratings were normal for a President presiding over a failure on every front.
“I’m not shocked at all by the numbers because they look exactly what normal looks like,” Kessler added. “The question is, given a lot of the good news in the country — the jobs numbers, businesses opening, the masks are off, the Russians are in full panic, America is astride the top of the world — can we do better? Can we do better than normal? And I think the disappointment right now is we’re not.”
The number one indicator for how the midterm elections will turn out is the job approval rating of the incumbent president.
And thanks to Joe Biden’s debacles on the border, crime, inflation, the supply chain, Afghanistan, COVID mandates, and Ukraine, his job approval numbers have sunk to a “break glass in case of emergency” level for Democrats.
