Democrats aren’t happy with the way Joe Biden has been leading America.
And his very presidency could be in jeopardy.
Joe Biden received a crushing piece of news that could change all his future plans.
The majority of Democrats don’t want President Joe Biden as their candidate in 2024.
The ABC News/Washington Post poll found that 56% of Democrats want Biden to be replaced while a meager 35% want Biden to run again.
“Looking two years off, just 35 percent of Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents favor Biden for the 2024 nomination; 56 percent want the party to pick someone else. Republicans and GOP-leaning independents, for their part, split 47-46 percent on whether Donald Trump should be their 2024 nominee – a 20-point drop for Trump compared with his 2020 nomination,” a news release regarding the poll stated. “The unpopularity of both figures may encourage third-party hopefuls, though they rarely do well.”
White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre however stated that despite the new poll Biden is still planning on running again in 2024 in Monday’s press briefing.
The reporter, referencing the ABC News/Washington Post poll, asked “is the president concerned by this?” and “how is he digesting a number like that?”
“So, as you know, I’m–I’m very limited on how I can discuss any kind of elections,” Jean-Pierre said stumbling in her response. “Uh, I will reiterate what we have said many times from here, what the president has said many times, even as recently as his ‘60 Minutes’ interview, is that he intends to run. Uh, I don’t have any more announcements on that.”
She then claimed that “the president will–will say, as I’m saying right now, is that his focus is not on himself. His focus is on continuing to deliver for the American people, after taking action.” Jean-Pierre then tried to segue the discussion into talking about Biden’s accomplishments.
The reporter noted, “The poll actually shows that the President is deeply underwater when it comes to the economy. Is there anything the White House plans to do differently? Do you need to do — the midterms are in 44 days. Does there need to be a course correction?”
Jean-Pierre responded by saying that instead of concentrating on poll numbers, what Biden was going to “focus on is how we are going to continue to deliver for the American people, especially at the most important things that matter to them: lowering costs, making inflation a priority when it comes to his economic agenda, making sure we don’t leave anybody behind, build an economy from the bottom up, middle out. And that’s going to be the President’s focus.”
