Democrats are wondering when the political bleeding from Joe Biden’s disastrous summer will end.
They got some bad news there.
And that’s because Joe Biden just got sucked into a hostage crisis that gave every Democrat nightmares.
Joe Biden’s lying to the public about how many Americans the Biden administration abandoned in Afghanistan.
Biden and his officials claim the administration only deserted 100 Americans behind Taliban lines.
Texas Congressman Mike McCaul – the ranking member on the House Intelligence Committee – told “Fox News Sunday” host Chris Wallace that number was closer to 500.
“You know, I’ve been given the answer in the classified space but it’s in the hundreds. We have hundreds of American citizens left behind enemy lines in Afghanistan as I speak. And also, very sadly, the interpreters who worked with our special forces, almost all of them were left behind and were not let in the gates at the airport at HKI to get out,” McCaul stated.
The news is even worse.
Americans Joe Biden stranded in Afghanistan are now Taliban hostages as the Taliban’s blocking six airplanes from taking off from Mazar-i-Sharif International Airport.
“Well, they are not — they are not clearing the airplanes to depart. They’ve sat at the airport for the last couple of days, these planes, and they’re not allowed to leave. We know the reason why is because the Taliban want something in exchange. This is really, Chris, turning into a hostage situation where they’re not going to allow American citizens to leave until they get full recognition from the United States of America,” McCaul added.
The Iranian hostage crisis functioned as the final nail in the coffin for Jimmy Carter’s presidency.
Iranians held 52 Americans hostage for 444 days and only released their captives after Ronald Reagan took office.
Jimmy Carter at least tried to free the Americans.
The military mission ended in failure and served as a symbol of America’s impotence and decline under Carter, but an attempt was made.
Joe Biden isn’t even attempting to rescue these Americans.
In fact, the administration told The Washington Free Beacon it is helpless to stage any rescue attempt.
“We do not have personnel on the ground, we do not have air assets in the country, we do not control the airspace—whether over Afghanistan or elsewhere in the region,” a State Department spokesman explained. “We understand the concern that many people are feeling as they try to facilitate further charter and other passage out of Afghanistan.”
Joe Biden already attracted comparisons to Jimmy Carter with the inflation crisis exploding on his watch.
Now Biden is sure to attract more unwelcome Jimmy Carter similarities with a hostage crisis of his own making.
