Joe Biden and his allies are getting some bad news.
The left never thought this was possible.
But Joe Biden is about to find himself in front of a judge because of these illegal acts.
During the Trump administration, the left would either thwart or slow down the Trump agenda by filing an endless stream of legal challengers in front of cherry-picked district court judges.
The judges—usually Obama or Clinton appointees—would then issue a national injunction throwing sand in the gears of the Trump administration.
It would take months—and sometimes years—for cases to work their way through the circuit court and eventually up to the Supreme Court.
Now that Joe Biden is in the White House, Trump allies believe turnabout is fair play.
Former top Trump advisor Stephen Miller formed a new group called America First Legal to challenge Joe Biden’s unlawful power grabs in court.
“Anything the president does that we believe to be illegal is fair game,” Miller told The Wall Street Journal in an interview.
Miller told the Journal he got the idea from his experience in the Trump administration where the left would unleash an avalanche of lawsuits anytime the administration announced a new policy initiative.
“We wouldn’t get just one lawsuit in one court, we’d get six lawsuits in six courts,” Miller explained.
Miller was the architect of the Trump administration’s successful policies to secure the border and implement an America First immigration agenda so Miller had a front row seat to the left’s legal onslaught.
But rather than complain, Miller tipped his cap to a successful strategy and now seeks to emulate it.
“It was an extraordinarily effective tactic, and there’s no counterpoint to that on our side,” Miller added.
The day Miller announced the group, Donald Trump quickly issued a statement endorsing America First Legal and its mission.
“Stephen Miller is a fearless, principled fighter for the America First movement. He has backbone, integrity, and never gives up. As we know, the Radical Left has been relentless in waging their battles in court. Conservatives and America First supporters badly need to catch up and turn the tables, which is why I applaud Stephen and Mark Meadows for rushing to fill this critical void,” President Trump’s statement read.
The right is playing catch-up in many respects with the left.
For years the right rejected corporate boycotts believing economic activity should remain free from political interference and that conservatives did not believe in harming the livelihood of workers for political causes.
That posture is rapidly changing as woke corporations impose the left’s political will on state and federal government.
In recent years, the American Civil Liberties Union largely abandoned its mission to defend the Constitution and became a leftist political action committee.
Stephen Miller and America First Legal hope to fill the void on the right for organized legal challenges to the left’s agenda.
