It’s all falling apart for Joe Biden.
One of the biggest cover-ups in recent memory is collapsing.
And now Joe Biden heard two words that put him in huge legal trouble.
After Joe Biden left the office of the vice president in 2017 Biden stole classified documents and hid them in different locations — his Communist Chinese-funded Washington think tank, the garage in his house, and his personal library.
The documents contained national secrets pertaining to Ukraine — where his son Hunter engaged in shady business deals — Iran, and the United Kingdom.
And the latest shoe to drop is the fact that the documents Biden stole included markings indicating they were top secret — the highest level of classification in the U.S. government.
CBS News reported:
The approximately 10 documents marked classified and discovered at the Penn Biden Center included top-secret material, according to a federal law enforcement official familiar with the investigation.
Top secret is the highest of the three basic levels of classification: confidential, secret and top secret. A leak of top secret information could cause “exceptionally grave damage.”
When Biden stole these documents, he was the vice president.
That means he had no authority to declassify the materials in question.
This is the key difference between Biden stealing classified documents and the FBI raiding Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate.
Trump was president and could declassify documents at any time and for any reason.
Former federal prosecutor Andrew McCarthy noticed something else that was even more damning to Joe Biden.
In a piece published in National Review, McCarthy noted that Biden White House special counsel Richard Sauber admitted in writing that Biden “inadvertently” stole the documents.
But there is no “inadvertent” exception to mishandling classified information and McCarthy explained Sauber’s statement was an admission of guilt on Biden’s behalf.
McCarthy wrote:
The reaction to the special counsel appointment by Richard Sauber, the lawyer Biden has brought into the White House to help deal with investigations, was remarkable. He said the president was confident that the special counsel investigation would find that the documents in question were “inadvertently misplaced.”
That’s not a defense to a charge of mishandling classified information. It is tantamount to an admission of guilt. For conviction, federal law requires prosecutors to establish that the defendant was grossly negligent. There is no need to prove that an accused was trying to harm the United States; just that he was trusted with classified information and carelessly flouted the standards for safeguarding it.
Attorney General Merrick Garland appointed U.S. Attorney Robert Hur as special counsel to investigate Biden for a crime where Biden already admitted his guilt.
And that is fueling speculation by many that the point of this investigation is to force Joe Biden to bow out of the 2024 race so Democrats can choose a stronger candidate.
