Joe Biden is in big trouble.
The scope of the crisis confronting his administration became abundantly clear.
Jim Jordan warned Joe Biden that Republican investigations are about to rev up.
The new Republican majority in the House of Representatives wasted no time flexing their oversight muscle.
House Judiciary Committee Chairman Ohio Congressman Jim Jordan sent a letter to Democrats in the administration, activist groups, and the FBI warning them that if they did not comply with the committee’s document requests Jordan was prepared to start firing off subpoenas like they were coming out of a t-shirt cannon at a sporting event.
The Daily Caller reported the letters were sent to “Chip Slaven, former Interim Executive Director and CEO of the National School Boards Association; Nina Jankowicz, former leader of the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) ‘Disinformation Governance Board;’ Viola Garcia with the National School Boards Association and Jennifer Moore, the Executive Assistant Director for the Human Resources Branch at the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).”
The subpoena threat revealed the contours of the investigations Jordan intended to pursue.
Jordan’s committee intends to investigate scandals involving the FBI smearing parents who opposed mask mandates and critical race theory at school board meetings as domestic terrorists, the administration’s attempt to censor the internet by creating a “Ministry of Truth,” and the FBI targeting whistleblowers who stepped forward with evidence of the Bureau’s anti-conservative bias for retaliation.
“These documents and your testimony are necessary to further our oversight. As we begin the 118th Congress, we write again to reiterate our outstanding requests and ask that you immediately comply in full. You have been on notice about our oversight requests — and are aware that the requests are outstanding — for months. For your convenience, we have attached the letters dated May 5, 2022, and December 1, 2022,” Jordan wrote.
In a separate letter Jordan also questioned Attorney General Merrick Garland about the Department of Justice’s knowledge of Joe Biden stealing classified documents.
Biden’s lawyers discovered the first set of stolen classified documents on November 2 — one week before the midterm elections — yet this discovery did not become public until mid-January.
Jordan wanted to know if Garland and the Department of Justice helped cover up the fact that Biden stole classified documents until after the midterm elections.
“It is unclear when the Department first came to learn about the existence of these documents, and whether it actively concealed this information from the public on the eve of the 2022 elections,” Jordan wrote.
Jordan also wanted to know why Garland ordered a raid of Mar-a-Lago but not Joe Biden’s home despite the fact that Biden’s made repeated false claims about turning over all stolen classified documents.
“In fact, on August 8, 2022, despite the publicly available evidence of President Trump’s voluntary cooperation, you personally approved the decision to seek a warrant for excessive and unprecedented access to his private residence. On August 15, 2022, Committee Republicans wrote to you and FBI Director Christopher Wray requesting documents and information related to the FBI’s raid of President Trump’s residence,” Jordan added.
Biden will soon face a brutal choice.
He can comply with Jordan’s document request and turn over all the evidence of administration wrongdoing or challenge the subpoenas in court, lose, and make it look like the administration clung to a cover-up it knew was doomed to fail.
