Democrats tried to put up a brave front about the coming midterm election.
But that is no longer possible.
And now Jen Psaki blurted out one truth about the election that Democrats are afraid to speak.
In August and September, Democrats pushed the idea of a “Dark Brandon” revival.
Democrats tried to turn the “Let’s go, Brandon” chant around and claimed Biden ramming through gun grabs and hundreds of millions of dollars in socialist Green New Deal and corporate welfare spending combined with the Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade flipped the political environment.
Liberal activists in the press actually pushed the idea that Democrats could hold on to their majority in the House and gain seats in the U.S. Senate.
These delusions all collapsed in October as an intense focus on the crime wave George Soros-funded prosecutors unleashed with soft-on-crimes schemes and Joe Biden’s inflation poisoned the political environment for Democrats.
Polls on the House, Senate, and gubernatorial elections all showed big shifts towards the Republicans.
During an appearance on MSNBC Psaki admitted that behind the scenes top party leaders and strategists admit that the playing field is tilted against Democrats.
“What we heard there and what you saw on the screen is similar to a lot of the conversations Democrats are having behind the scenes and people I talked to as well,” Psaki stated. “People are fearful about where the momentum is going in some of these cases.”
Psaki added that Democrats were concerned the base was not enthusiastic to turn out for House candidates.
“There are encouraging signs, but numbers in the House races are not where they should be,” Psaki continued. “People are trying to get … a lot of people I talked to are worried about voters being encouraged and excited about people at the top of the ticket, and maybe not excited enough to vote for the congressional candidates, and that’s a real concern.”
Psaki said Democrats knew they were in dire straits which is why campaigns called on Barack Obama to hit the trail in the campaign’s final days.
“So I think it’s a reflection of the Democrats are worried about where this is going. We only have 11 days to go here. That’s why I think you see Barack Obama, Joe Biden, all of these people out on the trail because they’re trying to light a fire with Democrats right now,” Psaki added.
The latest polling numbers show just how strong the headwinds Democrats are running into are.
A new NBC poll found Republicans winning swing voters by a similar percent to 2014 – which was another red wave election – when Republicans won nine Senate seats and took back the majority.
