Some establishment Republicans are quietly plotting behind the scenes to take down President Trump.
These rumors have Trump supporters seeing red.
And now Ivanka Trump is laying the groundwork to challenge this GOP senator in 2022.
Last month, Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner purchased a $30 million lot in an exclusive Miami neighborhood to raise their family in a post-White House life.
The New York Post exclusively reported, “Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner have splurged on a $30 million-plus lot of land on Miami’s uber-swanky and high-security Indian Creek Island — known as the ‘Billionaire’s Bunker’ — Page Six can exclusively reveal.”
But good schools and nice weather year-round are not the only attractions for Ivanka Trump in Florida.
There is also a favorable political climate for Republicans that carry the Trump name.
And Ivanka Trump’s move to Miami heated up speculation that she may challenge Republican Senator Marco Rubio in the 2022 primary.
The Independent reports:
She was said to believe Florida provided both safety and potential political opportunities with the state having swung for her father, president Trump, in last month’s vote.
“Ivanka definitely has political ambitions, no question about it,” said the source, who has worked with Ms Trump. “She wants to run for something, but that still needs to be figured out.”
Former Tampa Bay Times political editor Adam Smith said if Trump wanted to challenge Rubio there is a history of the name “Trump” being a winner on the ballot in Florida against Rubio.
“Assuming she’s not interested in a low-profile political office, that would leave the United States Senate as a possibility,” Smith told fake news CNN. “Marco Rubio is up for reelection in 2022 and is expected to run again. But I wouldn’t think Rubio would deter her if she wanted to run. The last time Marco Rubio ran against a Trump in Florida, in the 2016 presidential primary, Rubio was crushed by 19 percentage points.”
Florida used to be the classic swing state.
Barack Obama even carried it in both of his presidential campaigns.
But since 2016 the state has only gotten redder.
In 2018 Republicans defeated an incumbent Democrat senator and won the governor’s mansion despite an unfavorable national political environment.
Donald Trump won the state in a blowout by Florida standards in 2018 and the Hispanic vote around the state swung decisively toward the Republicans.
Despite the establishment in media, tech, business and Washington turning against Donald Trump in the wake of the riot at the Capitol, rank-and-file Republicans still support the President.
Pollster Frank Luntz found that 91 percent of Trump voters would still vote for the President today.
And that could translate into a powerful base of support for Ivanka Trump if she wants to run for office one day.
The issue with Ivanka Trump is she has always been seen as a Manhattan liberal that would moderate her father.
So-called “global warming” was one of her pet issues.
Ivanka Trump tried to shed that label by now claiming she is pro-life.
That was one clue she was interested in a political future with the GOP.
Moving to the increasingly red state of Florida was clue number two.
