House Speaker Kevin McCarthy stepped in it.
All hell is about to break loose in Congress.
And that’s because Kevin McCarthy got hit with one huge ultimatum that is his doomsday scenario.
Kevin McCarthy surrendered to Joe Biden’s demands to raise the debt ceiling.
And not only did McCarthy cave in to Biden, McCarthy cut a deal that provides a blank check for Joe Biden to wield unlimited authority to borrow trillions of dollars to finance his socialist agenda through January 1, 2025.
Early estimates show Biden will be able to run up a minimum of $4 trillion in new debt.
But because the new deal does not include a specific number Congress authorized in raising the debt ceiling Biden has the ability to run up as much debt as he wants for the remaining 18 months of his term.
McCarthy waving the white flag after Republicans passed a bill to cut $4.8 trillion in spending and a poll showing 60 percent of the public backed slashing government expenditures led conservatives to float filing a motion to vacate the chair and remove McCarthy as speaker of the House.
“Absolutely,” North Carolina Congressman Dan Bishop told POLITICO about a potential motion to vacate the chair. “It is inescapable to me. It has to be done.”
Colorado Congressman Ken Buck floated that very idea during a House Freedom Caucus conference call.
“On a House Freedom Caucus call Monday night, Rep. Ken Buck, R-Colo., floated using the motion to vacate, a rule that would allow any member of Congress to force a vote to remove the speaker, two sources familiar with the call told NBC News. Buck, speaking toward the end of the call, referred to it as the ‘elephant in the room,’ one source said,” NBC News reported.
Texas Congressman Chip Roy said that unless McCarthy could produce a spending bill that slammed the brakes on Biden’s socialist agenda that all Republicans could agree on McCarthy must pull the bill.
“Today, we ought to be seeking to have something that we can report out unanimously, and right now this bill, in my opinion, is not that — so they either need to amend it, change it or pull it down,” Roy told reporters.
Roy later also suggested a motion to vacate saying the debt ceiling fiasco called into question the entire House Republican leadership team.
👀 Roy calls the deal a “betrayal of the power sharing arrangement that we put in place” among House GOP
Adds if he can’t kill it in Rules Committee or on the floor “then we’re going to have to then regroup and figure out the whole leadership arrangement again” https://t.co/UYV8a4oVfk

As part of the agreement to get conservatives to support his bid for speaker, McCarthy agreed to a rule change allowing a single member to propose a motion to vacate the chair.
McCarthy knew that sword dangled over his head and yet plowed ahead with a deal to grant Joe Biden limitless power to run up new debt to fund his destructive war on American freedom.
Now that stubborn commitment to big government may cost McCarthy his job.
