For years, liberal critics slammed Fox News as “state TV.”
Fox finally responded and major changes appear to be underway.
And now Fox News left viewers red with rage over advice for Trump to throw in the towel.
No one will confuse Fox News with “Trump TV” anymore.
Beginning with Chris Wallace’s outrageously biased moderating performance in the first debate up through election night, many Fox News viewers saw an anti-Trump bias taking over large portions of Fox News programming.
Even “Fox and Friends” was not immune from staking out anti-Trump ground.
Co-host Brian Kilmeade urged President Trump to relent and allow the transition to Joe Biden while the President’s legal challenges wound down.
Kilmeade claimed the President had no chance of success in overturning the vote in states like Pennsylvania and it was time to throw in the towel.
“Here’s the thing, I think for the president of the United States, while he continues to fight on, and this is probably going to be the end of the week for Pennsylvania if they don’t produce something,” Kilmeade began.
Kilmeade parroted the fake news line that the fight against the coronavirus was too important to allow for the possibility that Biden would enter the White House playing catch up.
“I think it’s going to, in the country’s best interest, if he starts coordinating on the virus, starts coordinating with security with the Biden team,” Kilmeade added. “And just brief them, because, on the virus, we’re going to be able to get this out as soon as two weeks. We need to coordinate on the transportation and implementation, and you’ll see how thorough the planning has been so we don’t drop the ball in a little while.”
Trump supporters believe the President has every right to contest the election results to the hilt.
It’s President Trump’s right as an American to have his day in court.
And despite what Kilmeade claimed, Joe Biden is not the President-elect until the states certify their vote and the Electoral College meets on December 14.
Fox News hosts like Kilmeade pressuring President Trump to give up the fight are why competitor networks like Newsmax are seeing an uptick in viewers.
Some programs on Newsmax are attracting as many as 1,000,000 viewers when before the election they were lucky to draw an audience of 75,000.
Trump supporters feel Fox News violated their trust.
Fox’s audience tuned in because Fox acted as a counterweight to the fake news liberal media.
But now much of Fox News Channel’s programming is not challenging the dominant media narrative about the President, but is instead mimicking the liberal media talking points.
