CNN and other liberals spent years trying to take Fox News off the air.
They look one step closer to their goal.
And now Fox News is in big trouble after Joe Biden scored this terrifying victory.
This week Joe Biden demanded social media and cable companies censor networks that criticize his administration.
“I make a special appeal to social media companies and media outlets — please deal with the misinformation and disinformation that’s on your shows. It has to stop,” Biden pleaded.
AT&T – which now owns CNN – immediately complied.
Within two days of Biden’s demand for corporations to silence critics of the Democrat Party, DirecTV – which is owned by AT&T – announced it would not renew its contract with conservative news network One America News Network.
“DirecTV, one of the largest U.S. pay-TV providers, plans to drop One America News Network, dealing a major blow to the conservative channel that’s been criticized for spreading misinformation and had a loyal fan in former President Donald Trump. The satellite-TV provider has notified OAN’s owner, Herring Networks Inc., that it plans to stop carrying the company’s two channels when their contract expires. Herring Networks also owns AWE, a lifestyle channel that stands for ‘A Wealth of Entertainment,’” Bloomberg reported.
AT&T refused to address reasons why the corporate giant would comply with Biden’s demand to silence critics of the Biden administration.
“We informed Herring Networks that, following a routine internal review, we do not plan to enter into a new contract when our current agreement expires,” a statement from DirecTV read.
Revenue from DirecTV made up 90 percent of One America News Network’s revenue.
DirecTV obeying Joe Biden’s order to suppress news outlets that do not repeat Joe Biden’s talking points could spell the end of One America News Network.
CNN celebrated the decision and demanded to know when other cable companies would drop Fox News Channel from their services.
CNN’s Brian Stelter wrote:
Two days after the insurrection, I wrote in this letter about how TV carriers platform networks like OAN which spread misinformation, disinformation, and conspiracy theories. That it was time for TV carriers to face questions for lending their platforms to companies that profit off of lies. Yes, OAN and others are responsible for the garbage they peddle to their audiences. But the TV companies that beam them into millions of homes around the country also bear some responsibility. And yet we rarely, if ever, talk about them.
One year later, this is the most prominent example of that conversation beginning to change. But there are still plenty of hard questions for other companies to answer. Will Verizon, which has not commented about how it carried OAN’s lies to its customers, follow DirecTV’s lead? And will all these TV providers evaluate their carriage of similar (albeit just slightly more sane) channels such as Newsmax and Fox? These are questions that these companies should have to answer.
Radical left-wing ideologues like Brian Stelter’s guiding principle is that anyone who disagrees with the Democrat Party should not be allowed to speak.
Liberals demand that the only political speech permitted on social media and cable news are views that Democrats deem appropriate.
Democrats disguise their demands for corporate-sponsored censorship as combatting “misinformation.”
But what liberals don’t reveal is the fact that they deem misinformation as simply viewpoints they disagree with.
Now that DirecTV handed CNN and the rest of the liberal media mob their first scalp by crushing One America News Network, pro-censorship, free speech-hating radical leftists will step up their demands that cable companies put Fox News out of business by dropping them from their cable systems.
