Liberal activists mounted a new campaign to force Fox News Channel to fire Tucker Carlson.
Carlson and Fox never faced anything like this before.
Fox News is facing heat to cancel Tucker Carlson after this criminal allegation.
Tucker Carlson caused a frenzy of outrage on the COVID hysterical left when Carlson attacked the fanatics in the public health bureaucracy and elected office that still mandated that young children wear masks when outdoors.
The science shows children are at little to no risk of a bad outcome from the coronavirus and the virus does not transit readily outdoors.
Carlson compared making children wear masks outside—which can be unhealthy—to child abuse and urged his viewers to call the police on anyone they saw forcing their children to wear what Carlson mockingly calls “obedience masks” in an outdoor setting.
Tucker Carlson’s commentary enraged USA Today columnist Steven Petrow, who authored a piece whining about how “Fox News is courting death and danger by giving Tucker Carlson a platform to incite strangers to confront and harass mask wearers.”
Petrow recounted how, when he traveled to Florida for medical tests on his heart, a man confronted him about wearing a mask.
No violence took place, but Petrow claimed he was frightened.
Petrow claimed that Carlson’s monologue was the equivalent of Donald Trump’s speech on January 6, and that Carlson would also incite violence across the country by fans against mask wearers.
“Carlson’s rhetoric, much like then-President Donald Trump’s inflammatory call to action before the Jan. 6 insurrection, fires up his base — oops, I mean his viewers — and gives them additional license to challenge and confront people they know nothing about,” Petrow wrote.
Petrow accused Carlson of trying to incite violence and demanded Fox News fire Carlson.
“As for Carlson’s even more ridiculous suggestion that strangers call 911 or Child Protective Services if they see a kid wearing a mask, here’s some advice: Mind your own business and think about turning off ‘Tucker Carlson Tonight,’ tonight and every night. Fox News should fire him before his dangerous rhetoric turns deadly, exactly the way Trump’s did on Jan. 6,” Petrow added.
The irony of the situation is that Carlson was the one following the science whereas Petrow was not.
The CDC guidelines make clear that vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals do not need to wear a mask when outside with their family or other groups.
Carlson was actually calling on Americans to observe the data and accept science and not make children wear masks.
By contrast, Petrow wrote in his piece that even though he was fully vaccinated, he still wore a mask when walking around outside by himself.
No one is doing more to endanger the public and spread conspiracy theories than the COVID hysterics who act like vaccines don’t work and wear masks even though they are fully vaccinated.
