Donald Trump supporters spent months in court trying to force audits on the vote in key states from the 2020 election.
Now all hell is breaking loose.
And Donald Trump got the one court ruling on voter fraud that he was waiting for.
Election officials say the results were accurate.
But Trump supporters pushed in court for an audit of the November vote.
Trump and his supporters got their wish when Superior Court Judge Brian Amero allowed a lawsuit with nine claims against Fulton County – where Atlanta is located – to proceed.
The plaintiffs in this case argued they should be able to audit 147,000 ballots in Fulton County they believe do not meet the standard of a legal vote.
“Several election workers and volunteers have signed sworn statements saying they saw absentee ballots during the audit that weren’t creased from being mailed, appeared to be marked by a machine rather than by hand and were printed on different paper. The lawsuit also repeats a widely circulated claim of fraud based on security video that shows cases of ballots being pulled from under a skirted table and counted while observers and the news media weren’t present,” NBC News reported.
An independent monitor who observed the Fulton County recounts raised several red flags about the county’s election procedures however he did not allege it added up to a fraudulent vote total.
Nevertheless, Judge Amaro previously ordered Trump supporters get access to scanned ballot images and the corresponding paper ballots.
“The ballots are kept under seal in the custody of the clerk of Fulton County Superior and Magistrate courts. Amero in April ordered the court clerk to release the scanned absentee ballot images. At a hearing last month, Amero ordered that the paper ballots themselves be unsealed so that the petitioners who filed the lawsuit can inspect and scan them,” NBC also reported.
“This is a huge victory for everyone who wants to get to the truth about the way in which Fulton County mishandled the absentee ballot count,” attorney Bob Cheeley told Just the News in response to the ruling.
An audit will not change the results of the 2020 election.
Donald Trump will not be reinstated as president.
But a recent report out of Fulton County found 24 percent of mail-in ballots lacked the legally required chain of custody paperwork.
The number of ballots without this documentation was greater than Joe Biden’s winning margin of 12,000 votes.
An audit could put this issue to rest and allow the legislature to correct any issues before the 2022 and 2024 elections where Georgia will feature some of the most hotly contested races in America.
