There’s no excuse for the criminal attacks that targeted Donald Trump.
New texts show just how far members of the Obama administration went.
Devin Nunes is going to make sure somebody goes to jail for this awful cover-up.
The Steele dossier was used by the FBI as justification to wiretap the Trump campaign according to the FISA applications.
However, the FBI was misleading the FISA court and Congress in order to conduct their underhanded investigations against the Trump campaign.
In newly declassified messages, ex-FBI agent Peter Strzok, who was fired from the Mueller investigation, shows just how corrupt the FBI was during Crossfire Hurricane.
In an interview on Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures,” Rep. Devin Nunes stated that there are plans to make criminal referrals based off of the new text messages.
Nunes said that the messages showed that the FBI was lying to Congress.
“They knew that we were investigating FISA abuse, why would this not have been given to Congress? This is just another example we’re going to have to do another criminal referral,” Nunes said Sunday.
He noted that Strzok’s messages show the FBI’s narrative “was always nonsense.”
While the FBI has insisted that the FBI was not investigating the Trump campaign until Strzok opened Crossfire Hurricane on July 31, 2016, the new text messages paint a different story.
“Strzok sent a message to another FBI employee on Sept. 23, 2016, asserting that former British spy Christopher Steele had spoken to a news outlet regarding a dossier he compiled on Donald Trump in order to ‘influence’ the FBI’s investigation.” The Daily Caller reported.
John Durham, who is investigating the origins of the FBI espionage against Trump, requested Christopher Steele’s notes from meetings he had with FBI agents in 2016.
An FBI agent who took part in one of the interviews said that Steele “clearly … wasn’t truthful” about his contact with the media, but Strzok’s text messages show that some members of the FBI were using the Steele dossier in hopes of influencing the mainstream media.
Nunes also said that the text messages show that the FBI did not open an investigation because of then-Trump campaign associate George Papadopoulos.
Nunes claimed that Papadopoulos was a “phony target,” and that fact was hidden from Congress.
“Look, I think, overall here, these are kind of the text messages that we have all been waiting for, that we knew probably existed, that give the hard evidence that our investigation really needed several years ago,” Nunes said. “So, I have made the statement on your show and many others publicly over the last few years that we know the FBI was lying to Congress, because we knew that they did not open this investigation because of Papadopoulos, and then they opened it on July 31. That was always nonsense. There was plenty of evidence of that.”
“And, here, we have a text message that was clearly relevant to our investigation that they hid from us,” he continued. “And look, I would also say it’s now clear that Papadopoulos was so mistreated, it’s just so unbelievable. I mean, they’re actually — this — the FBI and DOJ in this country ought to be ashamed of themselves, mocking a target that they knew was a phony target. They’re making fun of Papadopoulos. This is really, really bad, and somebody needs to pay a price for it.”
The Obama administration undermined our democracy with the way he weaponized the FBI to carry out political attacks.
The people responsible need to be held accountable so that it never happens again.
