Democrats have teamed up with the so-called “mainstream” media to take down Donald Trump.
And they have zeroed in on his alleged ties to Russia.
Now they believe this new story will be the key to finally taking him down.
Democrats and the media are promoting the story that Jeff Sessions had met twice with the Russian Ambassador as a major bombshell.
The Washington Post reports:
Then-Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.) spoke twice last year with Russia’s ambassador to the United States, Justice Department officials said, encounters he did not disclose when asked about possible contacts between members of President Trump’s campaign and representatives of Moscow during Sessions’s confirmation hearing to become attorney general.
One of the meetings was a private conversation between Sessions and Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak that took place in September in the senator’s office, at the height of what U.S. intelligence officials say was a Russian cyber campaign to upend the U.S. presidential race.
Former Clinton campaign hands and members of the media have pushed this story as if it’s some sort of proof that the Trump administration was covering up their sinister ties to Russia.
But the story quickly unraveled after another piece of fake news was pushed by an anti-Trump media whose only loyalty is to the left-wing resistance.
The reason Sessions did not disclose these meetings during his confirmation testimony was because he was specifically asked about Trump contacts with Russians in regards to the 2016 election.
Sessions had met with the ambassador in his capacity as a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee.
He put out a statement stating any stories claiming he discussed the 2016 elections with the Russians are false.

Flores also told NBC News that his meeting with the Russian Ambassador was just one of 25 conversations with foreign ambassadors in his role with the Senate Armed Services Committee.
And others pointed out it would be completely normal for Sessions to meet with ambassadors.
When I worked for John Cornyn, ambassadors visited and called constantly. He was a junior Senator then. Sessions was high ranking on SASC.

After wondering aloud why Trump’s speech expectations were so low, the blue checkmarks are wetting the bed over a senator having a meeting.

Critics contend the story is a fake news hit piece designed to blunt the momentum Trump has gained from his successful address to Congress.
Other critics believe this fake news story is designed to smear Sessions’ integrity and force him to recuse himself from any investigations involving Trump.
Democrats and the media are now fighting for a sprawling Independent Counsel investigation so they can conduct their witch-hunt against Trump and his advisors.
