Democrats were holding out hope until the bitter end that they could hang on to their majorities.
But brutal news came from an unexpected source.
CNN left Democrats in tears with one shocking new poll that forecast election doom.
In the final week of the midterm campaign Democrat election analysts floated a baseless conspiracy theory that Republican-aligned firms flooded the zone with cheap and biased polls to manipulate polling averages like those on Real Clear Politics to show an artificial boost in momentum.
So just looked at the October polls on @FiveThirtyEight in GA, NV, PA. Of the 37 polls I found there, 19, more than half, are Republican polls.
GOP appears to be flooding the zone and polluting the averages more aggressively than usual.
Why I’m focused on the early vote.

This deranged theory collapsed in just four days after CNN released a poll showing a seven-point shift towards Republicans and the GOP holding a four-point lead over Democrats on the Generic Congressional Ballot.
There was not one speck of good news for Democrats in this poll.
The CNN poll showed Republicans holding a 14-point lead over Democrats on the question of which party’s voters were more enthusiastic to vote.
“Overall, 27% of registered voters say they are extremely enthusiastic about voting this year, down from 37% just ahead of the 2018 midterm elections, and the decline in enthusiasm comes almost entirely among Democrats. Four years ago, 44% of Democratic registered voters said they were extremely enthusiastic about voting; now, just 24% say the same. Among Republicans, the number has dipped only narrowly, from 43% to 38%,” CNN wrote of the poll results.
This was the same size lead Republicans held on this question in 2010 when the GOP won 63 House seats and six Senate seats in the Tea Party wave election.
CNN also found that Democrats made a disastrous bet focusing their entire campaign on their support for unlimited abortion on demand as the poll revealed 51 percent of Americans view the economy as the top issue compared to just 15 percent listing abortion as the nation’s more pressing issue.
“The economy and inflation are far and away the top issue for likely voters in this final stretch, with about half of all likely voters (51%) saying those will be the key issue determining their vote for Congress this year. Abortion, the second-ranking issue, lands as the top concern for 15% of likely voters,” CNN also reported.
Democrats spent over $320 million on ads attacking Republicans on abortion and just $31 million addressing the inflation crisis.
This decision appeared especially foolish due to CNN finding Republicans winning voters saying the economy was their number one issue by nearly 50 points.
“Those likely voters who say the economy is their top concern break heavily in favor of Republicans in their House districts, 71% to 26%. By an even wider margin, they say they trust the GOP more specifically to handle the economy and inflation (71% Republicans vs. 18% Democrats),” CNN also wrote about the poll’s results.
