Joe Biden is struggling as president.
Biden’s poll numbers continue to crater and Democrats harbor doubts about Vice President Kamala Harris’ political skills and competency.
And now CNN just did one big thing to help Hillary Clinton take Joe Biden’s place in 2024.
A CNN.com op-ed by pro-Hillary author Michael D’Antonio was the latest step in the Hillary Clinton comeback tour.
D’Antonio wrote that Clinton running for office would inject a jolt of enthusiasm into the 2024 race.
The author of “The Hunting of Hillary” wrote:
While the mere mention of the Clintons in the context of another presidential campaign offends some and inspires others, everyone in the political world has a reason to be excited by the prospect.
Among her supporters, there must be millions who have recovered from the heartbreak of 2016 and are ready to back her again. Among those who oppose her, the chance to resume battle against the woman they love to hate must surely send hearts racing.
D’Antonio argued that Clinton running for president again in 2024 would provide her supporters in the corporate media with an irresistible redemption arc as Clinton sought to join former Presidents Ronald Reagan, Richard Nixon and George H.W. Bush as commanders-in-chief that won the ultimate prize after losing.
“Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan, the first president Bush — who lost either primary or general elections and came back to win the White House,” D’Antonio wrote.
D’Antonio added that Clinton’s resume left her one the most qualified candidates in all of America.
“Given her experience as First Lady, a United States senator, and Secretary of State, Hillary is one of the most qualified potential presidents in the land,” D’Antonio declared.
There is no doubt that Hillary Clinton harbors a deep desire to be president.
To this day, Clinton still falsely claims Donald Trump was an illegitimate president and spreads the Big Lie that Russia stole the 2016 election from her.
Clinton’s made media rounds sounding like a party elder stateswoman by criticizing Biden from the left in claiming his administration should have achieved more wins and also attacking socialists like Bernie Sanders in warning the party not to adopt a strident leftist agenda that alienates the middle.
Bill Clinton even leaked to the press that he tried to pressure Democrat Senators Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema to scrap the filibuster.
That story appeared in POLITICO so the Democrat base would know the Clintons were fighting for their issue.
But Clinton’s sudden reappearance on the national stage in no accident.
Clinton was largely out of sight and out of mind from 2017-2020.
But now that Joe Biden’s approval ratings remain stuck in the low 40s and Kamala Harris flopped as vice president, Clinton clearly sees a path to the 2024 nomination.
