It’s only after the fact that the American people realized what a disaster Bill Clinton’s presidency was.
Now even Bill Clinton is coming clean.
And Bill Clinton made one shocking confession that had all hell breaking loose.
Two of America’s biggest debacles trace directly to the mistakes Bill Clinton made during his time in office.
Clinton’s 1995 rewrite of the Community Reinvestment Act forced banks to increase home loans into low-income neighborhoods and set the stage for the housing crisis and the 2000 Wall Street meltdown.
Now Bill Clinton is accepting responsibility for foreign policy blunders that put events in motion that led to Russia invading Ukraine.
In 1994 Bill Clinton was the architect of an agreement that saw Ukraine give up its nuclear arsenal — with 1,900 warheads Ukraine possessed the world’s third largest nuclear stockpile trailing only the United States and Russia — in exchange for a security guarantee with America, the United Kingdom, and Russia.
However, everyone understood this agreement did not commit the U.S. to sending in troops to protect Ukraine in the event of an invasion.
Ukraine’s first President, Leonid Kravchuk, predicted this deal would lead to disaster for his country.
“If tomorrow Russia goes into Crimea, no one will raise an eyebrow,” Kravchuk said according to the Wall Street Journal.
Sure enough, in 2014 Vladimir Putin annexed Crimea and the world was helpless to watch him seize the province.
After watching Joe Biden’s senility and incompetence on display during the disastrously executed Afghanistan withdrawal Putin sought to complete his conquest of Ukraine by ordering a full-scale invasion.
In two recent interviews Clinton accepted his share of the blame for his disastrous 1994 deal which left Ukraine vulnerable.
There has never been a direct shooting war between two nuclear powers and Clinton admitted that if Ukraine still possessed its nuclear deterrent Putin never would have invaded Ukraine.
“I feel a personal stake because I got them [Ukraine] to agree to give up their nuclear weapons,” Clinton said in an interview with the Irish news outlet RTÉ. “And none of them believe that Russia would have pulled this stunt if Ukraine still had their weapons.”
“When it became convenient to him, President Putin broke it and first took Crimea,” Clinton told Business Insider. “And I feel terrible about it because Ukraine is a very important country.”
Joe Biden only compounded these errors by embroiling America in a proxy war with Russia over Ukraine — a country that holds no vital strategic interest to the United States — which even Biden warned could spiral out of control and wipe out all human life on Earth in a nuclear Armageddon.
And it was Bill Clinton’s bungling in world affairs that set America and the world down this dangerous path.
