Barack Obama was known as one of America’s most divisive presidents.
But to many Americans this went too far.
And Barack Obama crossed a line with what he just did on TV.
Barack Obama made a lot of news with a wide-ranging softball interview with Anderson Cooper on CNN.
Obama tread on familiar ground of stoking racial resentments to divide Americans.
Cooper asked Obama to address the ascendant theme on the left of forcing race into every issue and smearing America as a systemically racist nation.
Obama was more than happy to take a whack at that softball by claiming that the speech he gave trying to defend his attendance at Reverend Wright’s racist and anti-American sermon told the American people hard truths about the country’s supposedly “racist” past.
“Yeah, well, look, I tried. I think I told a lot of stories. You take a look at the speeches I gave in Selma and the speech I gave during the campaign about Reverend Wright and that episode and each and every time I tried to describe why it is that we are still not fully reconciled with our history, but the fact is that it is a hard thing to hear. It’s hard for the majority in this country of white Americans to recognize that look, you can be proud of this country and its traditions and history and our forefathers and yet, it’s also true that this terrible stuff happened and that, you know, that lingers and continues,” Obama stated.
Obama pivoted to attacking a favorite target of his in Fox News claiming “right-wing media venues” made money off selling scaring white Americans into thinking they would lose their country due to changing demographics.
“I also think that there are certain right-wing media venues, for example, that monetize and capitalize on stoking the fear and resentment of a white population that is witnessing a changing America and seeing demographic changes and do everything they can to give people a sense that their way of life is threatened and that people are trying to take advantage of them,” Obama continued.
During Obama’s eight years in office he constantly attacked Fox News.
Obama often complained that the only reason Americans opposed his far-left agenda—which Obama often pitched as common sense—was because Fox refused to read from the pro-Democrat script Obama expected media outlets to follow.
Former President Obama concluded his rant by defending the Marxist Critical Race Theory being used in schools and colleges to brainwash students into thinking America was founded on racist institutions.
“We’re seeing it right now where you would think with all the public policy debates that are taking place right now that the Republican Party would be engaged in a significant debate about how are we going to deal with the economy and what are we going to do about climate change and what are we going to do about this. Low and behold, the single most important issue to them apparently right now is critical race theory. Who knew that that was the threat to our republic?” Obama stated.
