For all of 2020 the corporate media praised Andrew Cuomo for his “leadership” during the coronavirus pandemic.
But now all hell is breaking loose in New York.
And that’s because Andrew Cuomo just found out he is under investigation for this terrible sex crime.
New York Attorney General Letitia James produced her report on allegations of sexual harassment against New York Governor Andrew Cuomo.
Attorney General James and her office interviewed 179 witnesses and examined 74,000 pieces of evidence before producing a damning report detailing credible allegations that Cuomo sexually harassed 11 current and former employees as well as tried to retaliate against one accuser.
“Specifically, the investigation found that Gov. Andrew Cuomo sexually harassed current and former New York State employees by engaging in unwelcome and nonconsensual touching and making numerous offensive comments of a suggestive sexual nature, that created a hostile work environment for women,” the report read.
Attorney General James stated Cuomo broke federal and state laws, but that the violations were civil.
But Cuomo was not out of the woods.
Albany District Attorney David Soares announced that his office had an ongoing criminal investigation into these allegations.
“Along with the public, today we have been made aware of the final independent report from AG Letitia James’ office regarding Governor Cuomo’s conduct as they relate to violations of civil harassment statutes. We will be formally requesting investigative materials obtained by the AG’s Office, and we welcome any victim to contact our office with additional information,” District Attorney Soares stated. “As this matter is developing and we are reviewing the document released by the Attorney General toward, we will refrain from any additional public comment at this time regarding the status of the ongoing criminal investigation of our office.”
Governor Cuomo tried to dismiss the allegations claiming the attorney general took his normal interactions out of context to use it against him politically.
“I never touched anyone inappropriately, or made inappropriate sexual advances,” Cuomo stated. “I am 63-years-old. I lived my entire adult life in public view. That is just not who I am and that is not who I have ever been. It’s important to me that you fully understand that.”
Governor Cuomo lost all support politically.
Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi and Joe Biden all demanded Cuomo resign.
The speaker of the Assembly announced impeachment proceedings would quickly begin.
But that may be the least of Cuomo’s worries.
Last March, Joe Biden said if the allegations against Cuomo proved to be true, Cuomo could face criminal prosecution.
That idea seemed farfetched five months ago.
However, after the Albany district attorney’s announcement, criminal prosecution of Andrew Cuomo could be well within the realm of possibility.
