Despite whatever she says Hillary Clinton would very much like to run for president in 2024.
Clinton made that clear once again.
And all hell broke loose when Hillary Clinton used one word to describe Trump supporters.
Hillary Clinton revisited one of her career-defining gaffes.
At the Texas Tribune Festival Clinton smeared the thousands of Americans who attended Donald Trump’s rally in Ohio as Nazis worshipping a modern-day Adolf Hitler.
“I remember as a young student trying to figure out, how did people get basically drawn in by Hitler?” Clinton hysterically ranted. “How did that happen? And I’d watch newsreels, and I’d see this guy standing up there ranting and raving and people shouting and raising their arms. I thought, what’s happened to these people? What do they believe that?
“We saw the rally in Ohio the other night,” Clinton added. “Trump is ranting and raving for more than an hour, and you have these rows of young men with their arms raised.”
Clinton smearing everyday Americans as Nazis called back to her infamous comments during the 2016 election where she said half of all Trump supporters – about 25 percent of the country – were irredeemable racist, sexist bigots who belonged in the “basket of deplorables.”
“You know, to just be grossly generalistic, you could put half of Trump’s supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables. Right?” Clinton told a crowd at a fundraiser. “The racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamophobic—you name it. And unfortunately there are people like that. And he has lifted them up.”
Clinton’s issued halfhearted denials about not wanting to run for president a third time in 2024.
But that’s just because Joe Biden has not yet made his 2024 plans official.
It does Hillary Clinton no good to overtly express her desire to run for president and be seen as undermining Joe Biden if Biden intends to run for a second term.
That does not mean Clinton cannot maintain plausible deniability while still sending out clear signals to the Democrat Party base that she wants in on 2024.
Clinton’s rhetoric comparing Trump supporters to Nazis comes at a dangerous time.
Joe Biden delivered the most incendiary and un-American speech ever on September 1 when Biden announced 74 million Trump voters were enemies of the state.
Since Biden gave that speech, a Democrat elected official in Nevada allegedly stabbed and killed a journalist and a man in North Dakota ran over and killed an 18-year-old boy echoing Joe Biden’s language that the innocent victim was a Republican extremist.
Clinton cavalierly calling her fellow Americans Nazis is another escalation in the left’s promotion of violence in this year of rage.
