Donald Trump is likely to run for president in 2024.
Everyone wants to know what Trump’s chances of victory are.
And one top Trump ally claimed this Hollywood superstar could defeat Trump in 2024.
Former Trump chief of staff Mick Mulvaney claimed in an interview with POLITICO that if Donald Trump ran for president three people could defeat Trump in a GOP primary.
Mulvaney listed Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, South Carolina Republican Senator Tim Scott, and Hollywood A-list actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
“[Florida Gov. Ron] DeSantis could give him a run for his money. [South Carolina Sen.] Tim Scott can give him a run for his money. Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson could give him a run for his money,” Mulvaney told POLITICO.
DeSantis is a clear favorite to win the GOP nomination if Trump does not run for re-election.
Tim Scott is an establishment RINO that supports gun control, attacking police officers, and attacking Trump nominees using grievance politics.
Mulvaney also claimed Trump could defeat himself.
“By the way, there’s one other person who could beat him — which is himself,” Mulvaney added. “Donald Trump is sometimes his own worst enemy when it comes to campaigning.”
Mulvaney is not a Trump supporter.
Mulvaney resigned as special envoy to Northern Ireland buying into the corporate media narrative that Trump supporters attempted to overthrow the federal government by staging an insurrection on January 6.
But the name that stuck out on the list of potential 2024 GOP primary challengers to Trump was Dwayne Johnson.
Johnson was the biggest star in WWE and transitioned to the number one box office draw in Hollywood.
For years many thought Johnson was a Republican.
But in the summer of 2020 Johnson attacked Trump not supporting the Black Lives Matter movement – which actually staged an insurrection – after the death of George Floyd.
“Where is our leader at this time, when our country is down on its knees begging, pleading, hurt, angry, frustrated, in pain? Begging and pleading with its arms out, just wanting to be heard,” Johnson stated. “We must say the words: Black Lives Matter.”
Johnson then endorsed Joe Biden and Kamala Harris against Donald Trump.
“As a political independent & centrist, I’ve voted for both parties in the past. In this critical presidential election, I’m endorsing @JoeBiden & @KamalaHarris. Progress takes courage, humanity, empathy, strength, KINDNESS & RESPECT,” Johnson wrote on social media announcing the endorsement.
There is no question Johnson will eventually run for president one day.
Johnson’s expressed interest in a White House bid and even mentioned polling that shows the public open to his candidacy.
And Johnson’s hit NBC show “Young Rock” shows Johnson telling tales from his youth that shaped his life set against the backdrop of Johnson running for president in 2032.
But is Johnson even a Republican?
And will Johnson run against Donald Trump in 2024?
A former president running against the number one action movie star in Hollywood is something right out of a movie.
