Democrats have a massive problem on their hands.
It could have huge 2024 ramifications.
And a top Democrat senator just delivered this massive resignation news.
Gisele Fetterman posted a statement on Twitter that her husband John checked himself into the hospital to receive treatment for depression.
That is the second time Fetterman entered the hospital in the month of February.
Fetterman — who suffered a near-fatal stroke in May — got rushed to the hospital after experiencing headaches following the State of the Union address.
Democrats and the media tried to play this up like Fetterman was brave for seeking help on a mental health crisis.
“John, Gisele – Jill and I are thinking about your family today. Millions of people struggle with depression every day, often in private. Getting the care you need is brave and important. We’re grateful to you for leading by example,” Joe Biden wrote.
Fetterman’s chief of staff tried to play this off like it was no big deal and Fetterman would soon be back on the job.
“While John has experienced depression off and on throughout his life, it only became severe in recent weeks,” a statement from Fetterman’s chief of staff Adam Jentleson read. “On Monday, John was evaluated by Dr. Brian P. Monahan, the Attending Physician of the United States Congress. Yesterday, Dr. Monahan recommended inpatient care at Walter Reed. John agreed, and he is receiving treatment on a voluntary basis.”
“After examining John, the doctors at Walter Reed told us that John is getting the care he needs, and will soon be back to himself,” Jentleson added.
While everyone is wishing Fetterman well and a full recovery these sketchy statements sound suspiciously like the falsehoods Fetterman’s wife, the Democrats, and the media peddled following Fetterman’s stroke in May.
At the time, the Fetterman campaign tried to play off the stroke like it was a minor ailment and Fetterman would soon be back on the trail.
Fetterman did not campaign for three months and once Fetterman made public appearances again it was obvious he was a shell of his former self as he suffered serious cognitive and neurological impairment.

CNN’s Manu Raju reported that Fetterman would be in the hospital for weeks but that Fetterman was not considering resigning.
“Unclear how long Fetterman will stay in hospital, I’m told. Could be a month, maybe shorter,” Raju posted on social media. “Will take time for him to get right medication, per source. His symptoms were weight loss and lack of appetite, the latter of which contributed to lightheadedness last week, per source.”
“Amid some speculation about his future, Fetterman will not resign his office because of this illness, per source,” Raju added. “There have been numerous examples of senators who have been sidelined over the years for a much longer time period, and this is no different, the source added.”
A source close to Fetterman said resignation “was never discussed, not even on the table in any sense.”
If Fetterman resigns Pennsylvania Democrat Governor Josh Shapiro will name a replacement who then faces a special election in in the next scheduled general election to serve out the remainder of Fetterman’s term.
Fetterman resigning would put Democrats even further behind the eight-ball in 2024.
The party is already defending Senate seats in Ohio, West Virginia, Montana, Michigan, Nevada, and Pennsylvania.
Fetterman resigning would add another massively expensive Senate race to the docket that Democrats cannot afford.
Fetterman’s campaign, wife, and the Democrats misled the American people from day one about Fetterman’s condition.
And Democrats could hold off on Fetterman resigning until after the 2024 election so that way the special election for his seat would not be held until 2026.
