Joe Biden is a magnet for scandal and corruption.
The dam is breaking on the Biden family misdeeds.
A jaw-dropping confession in court is about to land Joe Biden in very hot water.
A May court affidavit detailing the sworn testimony of former Treasury official and current private investigator Thomas Sullivan revealed that a Philadelphia construction firm, Hill International, hired Joe Biden’s brother Jim to resolve a dispute with the government of Saudi Arabia in a dispute over $140 million after the company built a desalinization plant in the kingdom.
Sullivan testified that Jim Biden’s wife Sara said Jim and Joe Biden told each other everything meaning Joe Biden was likely aware of this arrangement to leverage Joe Biden’s position as the former vice president to help collect a debt.
“’Of course, the [Biden] name didn’t hurt’, and Jim’s wife Sara, who was present, allegedly said that Joe and his brother ‘told each other everything.’” Sullivan’s affidavit read.
Sullivan added that Hill hired Biden solely because of the weight the last name Biden would carry with the Saudi government.
“[Biden] stated that he was often sent to meetings to represent Hill because ‘of course, the name didn’t hurt,’ and he was the former Vice-President’s brother, or words to that effect. He repeated this statement at least twice during the interview,” Sullivan’s affidavit continued.
Sullivan reported that Jim Biden admitted his last name was the only reason Hill International brought him into the situation.
“I asked specifically if he had attended a meeting with the Saudi Ministry of Trade in mid-February 2012 to receive the final payment for the work Hill had performed. He answered that, to the best of his memory, he had been at such a meeting, and that the reason he had attended was ‘because of his position and relationship’ with his brother,” Sullivan stated.
Lankford & Reed partner V. Thomas Lankford — one of the firms Hill International hired to help collect the money owed — said the company dispatched Jim Biden.
“After many delays, a meeting was finally scheduled for mid-February, 2012, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia,” Lankford testified. “The Professional Firms were excluded from this meeting. Hill, acting through [its CEO, Irvin] Richter, sent Jim Biden – the then sitting Vice President’s brother.”
Lankford said that by sending Jim Biden they put the full force of the U.S. government behind their request by virtue of Joe Biden’s position as vice president.
“Richter confided that he selected Biden because KSA [the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia] would not dare stiff the brother of the Vice-President who would be instrumental to the deal,” Lankford admitted.
Shoes continue to drop in the scandal about the Biden family’s influence peddling.
Republicans on the House Oversight Committee will surely investigate this matter in an effort to determine how many millions of dollars the Biden family grifted from foreign governments and if those payments compromised Joe Biden’s ability to serve as president.
