Donald Trump had his day in court.
The outcome was not what anyone expected.
A federal judge handed Donald Trump a major win that crushed Democrats’ spirits.
Democrat lies about the events of June 1, 2020 continue to collapse.
An Inspector General report revealed plans by the Park Police to clear Lafayette Park of protestors was made before law enforcement knew Donald Trump planned to walk to St. John’s Church for a photo-op.
Investigations also revealed it was the local Washington police under the direction of Democrat Mayor Muriel Bowser that gassed the protestors and not federal officers as previously reported.
Now a federal judge threw out a lawsuit by the American Civil Liberties Union and Black Lives Matter against Trump and former Attorney General William Barr of ordering an “unprovoked attack” on peaceful protestors.
The Washington Post reports:
A U.S. judge on Monday dismissed most claims filed by the American Civil Liberties Union of D.C., Black Lives Matter and others in lawsuits that accused the Trump administration of authorizing an unprovoked attack on demonstrators in Lafayette Square last year.
The plaintiffs asserted the government used unnecessary force to enable a photo op of President Donald Trump holding a Bible outside of the historical St. John’s Church. But U.S. District Judge Dabney L. Friedrich of Washington called allegations that federal officials conspired to make way for the photo too speculative.
The judge also ruled the group Black Lives Matter could not prove damages and federal law enforcement officials like Barr and Park Police chief Gregory T. Monahan owned immunity from civil lawsuits.
The Washington Post also reports:
Friedrich also ruled that federal defendants such as then-Attorney General William P. Barr and then-acting Park Police chief Gregory T. Monahan are immune from civil suits and could not be sued for damages, and that Black Lives Matter as a group could not show it was directly injured by actions against individual demonstrators.
The judge did allow litigation to go forward challenging federal restrictions on protests and other First Amendment activity at Lafayette Square across from the White House, and against local D.C. and Arlington County police agencies that supported the operation.
This event was one of the great media failures of the Trump administration.
Corporate media outlets ran with the false story that Trump and Attorney General Barr ordered the Park Police to clear peaceful protestors out of Lafayette Park in a fascist show of force straight out of 1930s Germany.
This was all a lie.
But the media was happy to tell the lie because it advanced their preferred political narrative and it hurt Donald Trump in the polls.
The Inspector General debunked this corporate media conspiracy theory and now a federal judge laughed it out of court.
