James Comey made an accusation that’s probably infuriating Barack Obama. According to Comey’s testimony on Thursday, the Trump administration wasn’t the only party that pushed him to lie about the FBI investigation.
In fact, Comey reported that Loretta Lynch (Obama’s Attorney General) asked him to act deceptively as well. He stated that Lynch pushed him to lie about the probe into Hillary Clinton’s e-mail. Lynch, allegedly, asked Comey to call the probe into Clinton’s scandal a “matter,” rather than an “investigation.”
This elusive and misleading language is not only deceiving to the public, but is also refusing to tell the entire story.
According to PJ Media:
We don’t need to create hypotheticals to figure out that, if Comey had said the same about President Trump or Attorney General Sessions, the media would have spread that info like wildfire. CNN must have thought he was saying Sessions had asked him to not call the Russia probe an “investigation,” because they put out as much in their app’s alert system. They actually had to release a clarification once they realized their falsehood. So, it’s fair to say that the mainstream media is totally biased about this testimony. If he says the Trump administration tried to block an ongoing investigation, it’s huge news; but if he says the Obama administration tried to cover up the Hillary scandal, it’s a minor clarification (if even that).
Regardless of the media’s opinion or their reaction to the issue, one thing is perfectly clear. If Loretta Lynch did incentivize Comey to cover up the probe into Clinton’s e-mails, this act of secrecy needs to come to light.
By letting this accusation fall by the wayside, the media is brushing this crucial aspect of Comey’s testimony under the rug. And, if this is the case, what else is the public missing from this event that needs to come to light?
Comey stated that he was concerned when Lynch convinced him to call the Clinton issue a “matter. ” He also reports this issue was one of the main reasons he chose to step away from the department.
