Ilhan Omar is destroying the Democratic Party.
Her outrageous and racist attacks on Americans have created a crisis the party can’t deal with.
And now, one top Democrat has egg all over him after trying to defend her 9/11 comments.
Ilhan Omar is a walking gaffe machine.
The Freshman Congresswoman from Minnesota has emerged as the most vocal racist in the Democratic Party in just a matter of months, going so far as to attack Jewish Americans, Trump administration officials, and even flippantly dismissing the 9/11 attacks as simply “some people did something.”
It’s clear that Omar is falling apart.
And she’s starting to drag down the entire Democratic Party with her.
Now, Democrats are scrambling to come to her aid, just like they did when a resolution condemning Omar’s racist remarks about Jewish Americans was watered down at the 11th hour by Speaker Nancy Pelosi earlier this year in order to give cover to Omar.
And just like earlier, the defensive measures are completely backfiring on Democratic party officials.
“Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee Jerry Nadler says he takes no issue with a colleague dismissing Sept. 11, 2001, as a day when ‘some people did something,’” reports the Daily Caller.
“When asked if he ‘take[s] any issue with the way [Democratic Minnesota Rep. Ilhan] Omar characterized 9/11,’ Democratic New York Rep. Nadler, whose congressional district contains the on-site memorial to the 9/11 terrorist attacks, said, ‘No, I did not.’”
Nadler may have just tanked his political career in a matter of seconds with those comments.
Millions of Americans remember the 9/11 attacks.
And now they’re seeing a top-ranking Democratic official defend Omar’s description of the attacks as “some people did something”.
This isn’t something people will easily forget.
But for Nadler, he may be wishing they do just that.
“The congressman was being asked about the incident in the light of Omar’s recent speech to the Council on American-Islamic Relations in which she appeared to trivialize the events of Sept. 11, 2001,” adds the Daily Caller.
“President Donald Trump condemned Omar’s words in a tweet that also featured a video of her saying them in front of a Council on American-Islamic Relations conference in Los Angeles.”
The defense that Democrats are now using for Omar’s inexcusable comments?
That criticism of her or her outrageous behavior is “racist”.
That’s ridiculous.
The only racist actions in all of this are Omar’s own comments about how Jewish Americans aren’t really loyal to the United States.
Or how a top Trump official – who is also Jewish – is a white nationalist.
Yet Omar doesn’t apologize for any of it.
Instead, she relies on men like Jerry Nadler to bail her out when she finds herself in trouble.
“CNN host Jake Tapper referenced the president’s tweet and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s objection to it. But he also noted that ‘[Pelosi] also seemed to have a message for Congresswoman Omar, too, saying in her statement, ‘The memory of 9/11 is sacred ground and any discussion of it must be done with reverence.’’,” concludes the Daily Caller.
Do you think Omar should apologize to the families of 9/11 victims?
