Mitt Romney continues to carry out his vendetta against Donald Trump.
This time Romney went too far.
And you won’t believe how Mitt Romney tried to blame Trump for Russia invading Ukraine.
Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered an invasion of Ukraine that many fear is the first step towards World War Three.
This is the second foreign policy disaster to take place during Joe Biden’s term in office.
Many believe the disastrously executed withdrawal from Afghanistan served as a signal to Putin that the time was right to seize Ukraine.
After Putin invaded Ukraine, Utah Senator Mitt Romney released a statement blasting previous presidents’ handling of Russia and singled out Trump’s “America First” foreign policy for blame in allowing Putin free run to invade Ukraine.
Romney wrote:
Putin’s Ukraine invasion is the first time in 80 years that a great power has moved to conquer a sovereign nation. It is without justification, without provocation and without honor.
Putin’s impunity predictably follows our tepid response to his previous horrors in Georgia and Crimea, our naive efforts at a one-sided ‘reset,’ and the shortsightedness of ‘America First.’ The ‘80s called’ and we didn’t answer.
The peril of again looking away from Putin’s tyranny falls not just on the people of the nations he has violated, it falls on America as well. History shows that a tyrant’s appetite for conquest is never satiated.
America and our allies must answer the call to protect freedom by subjecting Putin and Russia to the harshest economic penalties, by expelling them from global institutions, and by committing ourselves to the expansion and modernization of our national defense.
This is false.
This invasion is the second invasion launched by Putin against Ukraine while Joe Biden was in office.
Back in 2014, Putin annexed Crimea during Biden’s term as vice president.
Now Putin is pushing to swallow up all of Ukraine and other Baltic countries like Latvia and Estonia while Joe Biden is president.
Putin did not invade any countries while Donald Trump oversaw his “America First” foreign policy.
Romney is bitter over Russia.
Back in the final debate of the 2012 presidential campaign Barack Obama mocked Romney for saying Russia was America’s number one geopolitical foe saying the 1980s called and wanted their foreign policy back.
Obama’s minions in the corporate media piled on Romney claiming Romney saying Russia was America’s top foe was evidence of a Cold War mindset that Democrats used to paint Romney as out of step with modern-day America.
But that insult and the fact that Romney did not fight back against Obama and the corporate media to defend his position does not discount the reality of the situation.
