Attorney General William Barr is overseeing one of his most politically explosive investigations.
How Barr handles this case could cast a long shadow over one of former President Clinton’s ugliest scandals.
And William Barr made one stunning admission about a Bill Clinton-linked death.
When prison authorities found alleged pedophile Jeffrey Epstein dead in a Manhattan jail cell this past summer, few Americans believed the official story that his death resulted from suicide.
The official story did not add up.
Epstein – who was closely linked to former President Bill Clinton and British Royal Family member Prince Andrew – supposedly hung himself in a jail cell that was designed to prevent prisoners from committing suicide.
The guards watching Epstein also failed to perform their routine checks on Epstein and stood accused of falsifying logs to make it appear as if they performed their duties.
And federal authorities also refused to release any surveillance video to prove no one entered Epstein’s jail cell and killed him.
The amount of secrets about Clinton and other prominent individuals as well as the suspicious nature of Epstein’s death led many Americans to conclude that someone murdered Epstein.
Among those questioning the official story was Attorney General William Barr.
But in an interview with the Associated Press, Barr revealed that upon studying the evidence the Attorney General accepted the official story that Epstein killed himself.
The Associated Press reports on their exclusive interview with Barr:
In an interview with The Associated Press, Barr said his concerns were prompted by the numerous irregularities at the New York jail where Epstein was being held. But he said after the FBI and the Justice Department’s inspector general continued to investigate, he realized there were a “series” of mistakes made that gave Epstein the chance to take his own life.
“I can understand people who immediately, whose minds went to sort of the worst-case scenario because it was a perfect storm of screw-ups,” Barr told the AP as he flew to Montana for an event.
Epstein’s death and alleged criminal activities attracted new attention in recent weeks after Project Veritas released video of ABC News anchor Amy Robach caught on hot mic railing about ABC spiking her 2016 report on Epstein’s alleged crimes.
The video tantalized viewers with the tease that Robach said her reporting on Epstein was airtight and included the goods on Bill Clinton.
Clinton flew on Epstein’s private plane – dubbed the “Lolita Express” – over 20 times.
And after Epstein’s death, Clinton’s office put out false and misleading statements about how long Clinton knew Epstein as well as lying about when and where they first met.
So-called “journalists” that claim their ability to seek out and report the truth is the only thing standing between America and 1930s Nazi Germany have not asked Robach what she meant or what evidence her reporting on Clinton and Epstein turned up.
