Despite being in Congress for just a month, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has had more than enough scandals to last a lifetime.
But this one takes the cake.
What she did this time is so unbelievable that it has people’s jaws on the floor.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is perhaps the most famous politician in American history who simultaneously knows the least about the United States government.
Yet for some reason, the left keeps cheering her on as their champion.
This has propelled Ocasio-Cortez to a spotlight only few political leaders get to enjoy during their tenure in office.
With a social media following in the millions, Ocasio-Cortez has the potential to activate her supporters in a way only President Trump can really rival.
But ironically, social media is also appearing to be her downfall.
After spending her valuable political capital defending anti-Semites like Democratic Representatives Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib, Ocasio-Cortez then fell face first into a massive political finance scandal that saw her campaign accused of funneling hundreds of thousands of dollars to her new Chief of Staff.
And it’s only gotten worse for Ocasio-Cortez.
Now she’s under fire for this outrageous retweet that links Ocasio-Cortez to some of Congress’ most outrageous members, including the previously mentioned Omar and Tlaib.
Her actions this time could be the straw that broke the camel’s back.
Breitbart reports, “Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) defended her colleague, Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), from accusations of antisemitism Tuesday by retweeting Yousef Munayyer — a reported supporter of a Palestinian terror group.”
Munayyer serves as the executive director of the U.S. Campaign for Palestinian Rights.
He’s also apparently a supporter of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), a socialist terrorist group that seeks to destroy the State of Israel.
“In a tweet last April, Munayyer told followers that Hamas [another terrorist group] leader Ismail Haniyeh held aloft a picture of imprisoned PFLP leader Ahmad Saadat in a show of solidarity,” adds Breitbart.
Other tweets from Munayyer, since deleted, remind his followers that the PFLP and other terrorist groups seeking to destroy Israel are fighting alongside Hamas “against Israel in this war.”
This past week, Munayyer tweeted his support for Omar, who is battling allegations of anti-Semitism after numerous comments from her attacking Israel and Jewish people came to light.
“AIPAC activist tells NYT the lobby is coming for Congresswomen @AOC @RashidaTlaib and @IlhanMN,” Munayyer tweeted.
AIPAC is the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, which seeks to maintain the friendly relationship the United States and Israel have with one another.
Ocasio-Cortez ultimately retweeted this and commented, “This is disappointing to see. Just last week there was all this hubbub over an untrue mischaracterization that I was threatening primaries based on pro-ICE votes. Yet there seems to be no problem at all with a zero-tolerance stance for simply asking about US foreign policy.”
While it’s unsure if Ocasio-Cortez even knew who she was retweeting, the connection is politically toxic.
Not only is she standing up for two extremely radical members of Congress whose comments have been so out of line that even fellow Democrats are now condemning them, but she’s now giving vocal terrorist sympathizers a platform on social media to spew lies and misinformation about Israel.
The hypocrisy is also quite stunning.
Republicans backed a resolution against Rep. Steve King (R-IA) and stripped him of his committee assignments over remarks he made to the New York Times about white supremacy. Meanwhile, Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar has yet to face any such sanction from Democratic leadership.
Do you think Ocasio-Cortez and Omar should apologize?
