Democrats got some bad news.
There is no explaining away the latest criminal activity.
And a top Democrat pleaded guilty after this incriminating video surfaced.
On September 30, New York Congressman Jamaal Bowman pulled a fire alarm inside the Capitol building as Congress debated a government funding bill.
The legislation didn’t include money Joe Biden demanded for the war in Ukraine and Democrats wanted to stall for time.
Bowman yanking the fire alarm looked to many like a delay tactic.
But Bowman claimed he was merely confused and thought the fire alarm was a lever that would unlock a door allowing him to exit the Capitol.
“I tried the door, it didn’t work so I pulled the alarm thinking it would open. That didn’t work, so I went downstairs,” Bowman said. “It was a dumb choice, but you know, it is what it is,” Bowman said.
Conservatives ridiculed the lame excuse and thought Bowman’s stunt sounded a lot like an attempt to obstruct an official proceeding through a deliberate attempt to delay the House from voting on the spending bill.
Attempting to obstruct an official proceeding is the same charge Donald Trump and his supporters face years in prison for allegedly committing.
But Bowman belongs to the Democrat Party so there was little doubt the weaponized justice system would protect him.
And, in fact, the Washington, D.C. attorney general let Bowman off with a slap on the wrist.
Bowman pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of pulling a fire alarm and will pay a $1,000 fine and see the charge erased from his record after three months.
Afterwards, Bowman released a statement expressing his gratitude that his fellow Democrats let him off the hook on charges that would have landed a Trump supporter in solitary confinement in the D.C. jail while awaiting trial.
“I’m thankful for the quick resolution from the District of Columbia Attorney General’s office on this issue and grateful that the United States Capitol Police General Counsel’s office agreed I did not obstruct nor intend to obstruct any House vote or proceedings. I am responsible for activating a fire alarm, I will be paying the fine issued, and look forward to these charges being ultimately dropped,” Bowman’s statement began.
“I think we all know that Republicans will attempt to use this to distract everyone from their mess, but I look forward to putting this behind me and to continue working hard to deliver for New Yorkers,” Bowman continued.
The surveillance camera footage of Bowman pulling the fire alarm blows his story out of the water and further reinforces that a double standard of justice was at play.
Bowman is seen removing the warning signs from the door about the fire alarm.
The New York congressman then yanked the alarm and quickly walked in the other direction.

Neither the Democrat attorney general of D.C. nor the Biden Justice Department would have swallowed an explanation from a Trump supporter that they were confused as to what would happen if they pulled the fire alarm given that video evidence.
