The mainstream media and anti-gun activists have been pushing for gun control in the wake of the Parkland shooting.
But the whole narrative that firearms are to blame for the tragedy just got blown up.
Laura Ingraham left her viewers speechless after one shocking revelation about the Florida shooting.
She revealed that Broward County deputies were told not to go into Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School during the shooting because they weren’t wearing body cameras.
The Daily Caller reports:
“Fox News’ Laura Ingraham reported Monday that Broward Country deputies were told not to go into Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School during the mass shooting earlier this month.
The alleged reason? They didn’t have any body cameras with them.
“Now, our sources near the Broward County sheriff’s department are telling us that the deputies who arrived at the scene of the shooting were told not to enter the school unless their body cameras were turned on, and then we found out that the deputies did not have body cameras so they did not enter the building or engage the shooter,” Ingraham said.
“Curiously, police also lost radio communications during the Parkland shooting. And our source claims that radio communication also went dead during the Fort Lauderdale airport shooting in 2017 that he also got a lot of criticism for.”
The Broward County Sheriff’s Department has come under intense criticism for dropping the ball on stopping the shooter.
The Sheriff’s office took no action, despite Buzzfeed reporting 45 calls to the authorities about the shooter – including one made by the killer himself – and the fact that the deputy on campus ducked for cover outside instead of running into the building to confront the madman.
Sheriff Scott Israel has tried to deflect from his office’s failures by coming out strong for gun control and even stating in an interview on CNN that he showed “amazing leadership.”
Now 74 Republican lawmakers in Florida are calling on anti-gun Governor Rick Scott to remove Israel from office.
The Miami Herald reports:
“In his letter, Rep. Bill Hager, R-Boca Raton, pointed to the “unfathomable inaction” of Sheriff Scott Israel’s department in not acting on reports of gunman Nikolas Cruz’s erratic and dangerous behavior — including threats to shoot up a school — and of not intervening while Cruz killed 17 students and faculty at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School on Valentine’s Day.
“An investigation by Sheriff Israel into the unfathomable inaction of those deputies will do nothing to bring back the 17 victims,” said Hager, the House Justice Appropriations chairman. “The sheriff was fully aware of the threat this individual presented to his community and chose to ignore it.”
Before he committed the worst high school shooting in U.S. history, Cruz’s behavior was repeatedly flagged by local and federal law enforcement and state social services. Yet the 19-year-old was able to legally purchase an AR-15 semiautomatic rifle, the weapon he used to shoot and kill the 17.
Hager referenced reports that BSO had received 23 calls about Cruz or his family, and that deputies visited Cruz’s residence 39 times over a seven-year span.”
Israel has grandstanded on guns while ignoring his office’s failures.
Will Ingraham’s report be the straw that breaks the camel’s back?
