The migrant mob storming through Mexico toward America’s southern border is the number one issue in the midterm election.
Democrats – and many in the fake news media – thought it would turn into a giant embarrassment for Trump.
But Donald Trump has one ace up his sleeve to shut the caravan down once-and-for-all.
Donald Trump Reacts To Migrant Mob
Reports say 7,000 migrants will show up at the southern border in the coming weeks and demand entry into the United States.
Vice President Mike Pence revealed the President of Honduras told him left-wing groups in Venezuela organized the caravan.
Their goal was to challenge Trump.
But Donald Trump was not going to let that happen.
Trump tweeted:
To those in the Caravan, turnaround, we are not letting people into the United States illegally. Go back to your Country and if you want, apply for citizenship like millions of others are doing!
Trump was going to do more than just talk.
He previously said he would call out the U.S. military to secure the border.
Brandon Judd of the National Border Patrol Council is right when he says on @foxandfriends that the Democrat inspired laws make it tough for us to stop people at the Border. MUST BE CHANDED, but I am bringing out the military for this National Emergency. They will be stopped!
And Secretary of Defense James Mattis followed through by sending another 800 troops to the southern border as well.
They will carry out support tasks so Border Patrol can focus on stopping illegal aliens from sneaking into the country.
Congresswoman Marsha Blackburn applauded this move.
“So I support General Mattis and the call for putting some troops on the border to secure that border,” she began.
“And also I support any actions – and that the actions that we would see coming forth that would prohibit those that would seek to do us harm from coming in this country.”
Donald Trump Saves His Most Dramatic Move For Last
But Trump has one more ace up his sleeve to stop the migrant mob.
His administration is planning a proclamation to close the southern border altogether.
Trump would use the authority granted to him to ban certain classes of aliens from entering the country if he were to deem them a threat to the United States.
Section 212(f) of the 1952 Immigration Act states “Whenever the President finds that the entry of any aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, he may by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or nonimmigrants, or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate.”
He cited this authority in his travel ban.
And the Supreme Court upheld that executive order by a 5-4 vote.
