The FBI’s crimes are in full view of the American people and now the big question is who will pay by going to jail.
And now Trey Gowdy had some really bad news for one close Obama ally.
Disgraced former FBI Director James Comey is one of the central villains in this drama.
Comey spent years cultivating an image of the last honest lawman in Washington only to see that façade disintegrate under the weight of Inspector General Horowitz’s findings.
Under Comey’s watch, FBI agents fabricated evidence, lied to judges and concealed exculpatory information as part of a corrupt scheme to bring down Donald Trump – first during the campaign and then during the Trump Presidency.
Comey initially seized on Horowitz’s questionable finding that there was no political bias in the FBI opening the Russia investigation to claim ‘vindication.’
Americans that watched – or read about – Horowitz detail in excruciating detail the massive corruption and criminal activities during his Senate Judiciary Committee testimony couldn’t believe the gall Comey displayed.
Among those outraged by Comey’s deflections and misrepresentations was Trey Gowdy.
Gowdy appeared on Martha MacCallum’s Fox News program and mocked Comey’s authoring of a book on ethical leadership and compared it to the corrupt criminal syndicate Comey oversaw as Director of the FBI.
“But most important, Horowitz’s report found that the investigation was opened and conducted according to the rules, finding no ‘evidence that political bias or improper motivation influenced [the] decision’ to start it or how to run it,” Comey wrote in a Washington Post op-ed.
“I don’t know what report Comey read,” Gowdy told MacCallum. “This is the third IG report that has found his conduct to be substandard, if that’s a victory lap, if he wants to take a victory lap because he’s not indicted, more power to him.”
“Don’t write any more books on ethics, though. Don’t tell me what the ethical standard is if you think this report vindicates you,” Gowdy added.
Gowdy was not alone in his opinion that Comey was out of his mind to claim Horowitz’s report “vindicated” him.
Louisiana Senator John Kennedy directly asked Horowitz if his report “vindicated” James Comey.
“It doesn’t vindicate anyone at the FBI who touched this, including the leadership,” Horowitz responded.
When Donald Trump fired Comey back in May 2017, Comey teamed with Trump haters in the fake news media to paint a picture of a corrupt President that fired a straight-shooting FBI Director because Comey and his “just the facts ma’am” investigators were about to expose Trump’s treasonous collusion with Russia.
The reality was far different.
President Trump sacked a crooked FBI Director that conspired with a handpicked cabal of fellow officials to first try and sabotage a Presidential campaign and then stage a mutiny against a sitting President.
