Trey Gowdy got hot under the collar.
Gowdy unleashed his anger on one target in particular.
And Trey Gowdy went nuclear on this Republican and left Fox viewers stunned into silence.
The historic Tea Party wave of 2010 swept Trey Gowdy into Congress.
Gowdy harnessed conservative fury at the GOP establishment to defeat a RINO incumbent who supported a form of the Green New Deal in the primary and then cruised in the general election.
That history of mobilizing conservatives furious at business as usual in Washington left Fox News viewers taken aback when Gowdy used his latest appearance on Fox News’ “Special Report” to tear into Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz over Gaetz leading the successful effort to remove House Speaker Kevin McCarthy.
“He’s had a personal vendetta against Kevin. I was there when he got there. He’s had a personal vendetta. I’m not a psychiatrist, I can’t tell you why he can’t stand to see others succeed,” Gowdy fumed about Gaetz.
Gaetz introduced a motion to vacate and oust McCarthy as speaker after McCarthy reneged on his promises to pass individual appropriations bills that slashed Joe Biden’s socialist spending and began to get a handle on America’s $33 trillion in debt.
Instead, Gowdy launched into a bizarre personal attack where he compared Gaetz to a comic book supervillain.
“Matt Gaetz defended Katie Hill, remember who gave us the term ‘throupling,’ he defended her, he defended congresswoman Jayapal, he’s got a crush on AOC, but yet he delights in hacking Republicans. I can’t tell you the psychiatric diagnosis, I can just tell you it is dangerous for the Republican Party,” Gowdy continued.
“How in the world do you govern that gallery of rogues?” Gowdy concluded.
Gowdy’s had a troubling history of backing the establishment in the past.
The South Carolina congressman defended the unconstitutional, warrantless domestic spying that the Deep State used to target Donald Trump and his presidential campaign.
And after leaving Congress Gowdy became a vocal cheerleader for red flag confiscation laws, which Democrat prosecutors can wield against conservatives to allow the weaponized justice system to issue orders allowing government agents to barge into Americans’ homes and seize their firearms without due process of law.
Establishment RINOs like former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich and Karl Rove were furious at Gaetz.
That’s because RINOs can’t stand when they get exposed as frauds who campaign as conservatives but vote with Democrats once in Washington.
They want to keep up the illusion of “Team R” v. “Team D” to keep the public distracted from the fact that the D.C. swamp operates as a uniparty to maintain business as usual.
