President Trump has upset many powerful figures in his quest to drain the swamp.
As he works to fulfill his campaign promises, it’s clear the fighting has only just begun.
And now one top federal court just threw out the Constitution in order to attack Trump.
President Trump is working tirelessly to secure the border and build a wall with Mexico.
It’s a campaign promise he ran on literally from day one, and arguably the key issue that allowed him to win the Republican Party primary in 2016, and go on to defeat Hillary Clinton in the general election later that year to become President.
Since taking office, Trump has had to deal with opposition from not just the Democrats, but also many in his own party as he seeks to make good on his promises.
And after a tense standoff that led to a government shutdown earlier this year, he seemed poised to finally begin work on the wall with a new executive order declaring the Pentagon to finish the job after Democrats worked to block him at every turn.
But now, a federal court is trying to block his ability to build the wall, and they’re willing to throw out the Constitution just to spite Trump.
Breitbart reports, “President Donald Trump criticized a San Francisco judge for blocking his policy to require migrants requesting asylum to remain in Mexico, rather than be released into the United States to await their court hearing.”
“A 9th Circuit Judge just ruled that Mexico is too dangerous for migrants,” Trump wrote on Twitter. “So unfair to the U.S. OUT OF CONTROL!”
The judge, Richard Seeborg, ruled that the new rules the Trump administration put into place with respect to asylum seekers, couldn’t go into effect.
But the problem is, the Constitution gives Congress the ability to completely regulate immigration law in the United States. There’s nothing guaranteeing people the right to move into the country without any restrictions, and Congress has given the President the power to set up these rules.
But that doesn’t matter to this liberal 9th circuit court judge, who only cares about blocking President Trump from doing his job rather than upholding the Constitution.
“A liberal activist judge in San Francisco ruled the United States and Mexico can’t work together to address asylum issues at the border,” wrote White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders on Twitter. “It’s sad that Mexico is now doing more to secure our border than Democrats.”
Seeborg ruled that the new rules imposed by the Trump administration fail to protect migrants from “risks to their lives” if they stay in Mexico while waiting for their asylum applications to be processed, as opposed to coming into the country before getting approval.
This is of course ridiculous. No one has a right to enter the country, and it isn’t too much to ask that those who wish to do so, follow the rules the President or Congress puts into place.
