Joe Biden continues to bungle his way through the crisis over Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
Now members of his own party are growing antsy.
And these three Democrats just turned on Joe Biden with a very public humiliation.
On January 6, 2021, the price of gasoline in America was $2.25 per gallon.
On March 8, 2022, it surged to over $4.11 per gallon.
Joe Biden’s falsely claimed this is “Putin’s price hike” after Biden banned importing Russian oil.
But the price of gasoline skyrocketed long before Putin ordered his military into Ukraine.
When reporters asked Biden about what he could do to mitigate the rise in gas prices for the American public Biden lied.
“Can’t do much right now,” Biden stated before adding that “Russia is responsible.”
Biden’s fellow Democrats do not agree.
Montana Senator Jon Tester ripped Biden for wanting to make up the shortfall of 670,000 barrels of oil a day lost to the Russian ban by cutting deals with Putin’s allies in Venezuela and Iran.
“Well, we shouldn’t be advancing other countries that don’t share our values. So, I think that the opportunity here is to do it domestically, create jobs here, deal with it domestically, and also see if we can help Europe out, too,” Tester stated.
West Virginia Democrat Joe Manchin called for a return of the Trump-era energy policies.
“Go back to the policies that we’ve had before,” Manchin told CNN.
Manchin added that Biden needed to unshackle the American energy industry by building the Keystone XL pipeline, issuing new fracking permits on federal lands and restarting oil drilling in ANWR.
“All of this has to go back into production. That’s all we’re asking for. And if we’re asking the rest of the world to step up, let’s show that we’re going to step up and any oil that’s needed to our allies around the world, we produce it cleaner than anybody,” Manchin stated.
New Jersey Democrat Robert Menendez criticized Biden for calling Venezuela’s communist dictator Nicolas Maduro a cancer one week ago and now Biden wants to lift sanctions on Venezuelan oil instead of producing energy here in America.
“Look, I understand the economic consequences that the president is trying to avoid for the American people. I share that concern. But there [are] places like Mexico, the United Arab Emirates, Canada, as well as domestic production that has already been licensed, that should be able to [offset] the consequences of the loss of Russian oil. You don’t have to go to a dictator that, ultimately, has created enormous consequences for his people, that kills people, that imprisons them, and for which President Biden extended the decree that declared Maduro and his regime a national security threat,” Menendez stated.
Democrats know high gas prices are politically toxic and that high gas prices are a policy choice by the Biden administration.
And Democrats knowing their majorities are at risk this November are begging Joe Biden to change course.
