The 2020 Presidential Election is proving to be one of the most unpredictable in American history.
Donald Trump looks like he is well positioned to win re-election in 2020.
But Rush Limbaugh made this shocking prediction about the odds of Trump not running in 2020.
During a recent broadcast Limbaugh discussed the state of play in the 2020 Presidential Election.
Limbaugh explained that “Crazy Bernie” Sanders was gaining in the national polls and led in the key early states of Iowa and New Hampshire and that Sanders’ rise gave heartburn to the Obama loyalists that still run the Democrat Party.
“The Democrat Party’s getting really, really worried now that Bernie Sanders could win the Democrat nomination. And the thing to keep in mind about that is that the Obama administration people despise the guy, and they have not been able to stop him. A lot of people… You ought to be very concerned. We all ought to be very concerned about it because the guy is nuts,” Limbaugh began.
Limbaugh reasoned that if the Democrat establishment tried to rig the 2020 primary against Sanders the way former Democrat National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz did in 2016, Sanders could run as a third party.
“…then what would stop an extremely well-funded, radical left candidate from running as a third-party candidate? Crazy Bernie, 78 years old, recovering from a heart attack, if he doesn’t win the Democrat nomination, you think he’s just gonna go away? It’s his last campaign,” Limbaugh continued.
In the event that the Democrats can’t stop Sanders, Limbaugh predicted that Democrats would try and entice Michelle Obama into the race.
“I was the first to tell you, I was the first to tell you that Obama wanted no part of Biden. But he wants no part of Crazy Bernie, either. And don’t be surprised if in the midst of this you continue to hear a name tossed out randomly now and then, Michelle Obama. And when her name is tossed out, it will be along the lines of there’s only one Democrat who can really beat Trump, and that’s Michelle Obama,” Limbaugh added.
Limbaugh claimed that while the people who set the odds on if President Trump will be re-elected think Trump is the overwhelmingly favorite, these prognosticators do believe there is a 20 percent chance the President decides not to run for re-election.
“There is a line of thinking, 20% says that Trump may not run for reelection. He will just declare victory, say he has accomplished everything he set out to accomplish and go back to becoming king of the Trump Organization at Mar-a-Lago. Twenty percent, this is nothing formal. It’s barely in one of the betting sites, which will put any proposition up and anybody can then vote on it, but at least it’s out there,” Limbaugh concluded.
