Democrats established that weaponizing the justice system against Donald Trump is their bread-and-butter strategy in the 2024 campaign.
The Democrats’ theory of the case got put to the test.
And Donald Trump’s mug shot led to a change in the polls that no one saw coming.
Fulton County Democrat District Attorney Fani Willis is not even hiding the fact that she is a partisan operative who brought her bogus indictment against Donald Trump for contesting the 2020 election to interfere in the 2024 election.
Not even Democrat prosecutors Jack Smith or Alvin Bragg forced Trump to submit to a mug shot.
But Willis demanded Trump pose for the photo.
Willis likely thought the picture would brand Trump a national disgrace and hang around him like an anchor in the general election.
Democrats learned that was a big mistake.
Trump used the occasion of his mug shot to return to X – the app formerly known as Twitter – for the first time and posted the photo with a “Never Surrender!” caption and a link to his website.

Trump owned the photo on his terms as it turned into a masterstroke.
The Trump campaign revealed it raised almost $10 million in the 72 hours after posting the photo which included selling tens of thousands of t-shirts, coffee mugs and posters with Trump’s mug shot emblazoned on it.
Fox News Digital reported that the campaign sold “36,000 t-shirts with Trump’s historic mugshot printed have been sold, bringing in more than $1.7 million. The Trump campaign also sold 24,000 mugshot coffee mugs, bringing in $864,000 and 8,600 mugshot posters, raking in $352,000.”
But the mug shot did not just galvanize Trump’s support with the conservative base.
A new national poll from the Economist/YouGov – which was taken entirely after Trump released his mug shot – showed Trump leading Joe Biden.

Democrats do not want the election to be a referendum on Joe Biden.
It’s easy to see why.
The Economist/YouGov poll also showed just 22 percent of voters think the country is headed in the right direction.
Joe Biden and the Democrats’ gameplan was to use the indictments to keep the focus on Trump to make swing suburban voters queasy about handing Trump back the White House even if they believe Biden is an old, senile and failed president.
But the first polls out of the gate show the American people are focused more on Joe Biden and what they perceive as his failures on crime, inflation, the border and his risky and costly war against Russia in Ukraine.
