Despite being the highest-ranking Democrat in America, Nancy Pelosi can’t get anything done.
She is failing horribly, and her impeachment hoax is falling apart.
And to make matters worse, a top Republican just said seven words that will end her.
Despite talking a big game about impeachment, Nancy Pelosi is doing everything she can to prevent it from moving any further than it has.
She is refusing to send the two articles of impeachment she passed in the House to the Senate.
And while speaking on Fox News’s “Sunday Morning Futures With Maria Bartiromo,” Rep. John Ratcliffe explained why.
He explains that Senate Democrats know they don’t have enough evidence to win in a Senate trial, and that ultimately Pelosi “put a gun to her own head” in passing the impeachment articles.
Ratcliffe goes on to state that Pelosi is “looking for Mitch McConnell to give her a way out,” but that “he’s not going to do that.”
“Senator Schumer was already saying ‘we can’t have a Senate trial without more evidence and more testimony’ because he knew it was going to be dead on arrival over in the Senate and it will be and that’s why despite that professed urgency on December 18th to impeach right now with everything we need, it’s now been almost three weeks and she hasn’t taken any action. She’s let that progressive, socialist, Democratic mob walk her into a box canyon,” Ratcliffe said.
In reality, the only reason Democrats made such an urgent push just before the Christmas holiday over impeachment was to ensure on-the-fence Democrats would stay on board.
If those Democrats ended up spending time in their own District, outside the Washington, D.C. bubble, their constituents would have the opportunity to make their voices heard loud and clear.
Following the Thanksgiving holiday, where Congress was on break, support for impeachment took a nosedive in the polls.
So Nancy Pelosi and the rest of the Democrat establishment weren’t willing to let that happen again before their vote.
And now that their work on the House side is done, they are slow-walking it, and might never even send the impeachment articles to the Senate so the real trial can happen.
If they can’t remove Trump, Democrats want to at least have the black mark of impeachment forever hanging over Trump’s legacy.
But Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell isn’t letting that happen, and is making sure that there is a fair Senate trial, where Trump will get the opportunity to remove that black mark.
A Senate trial will almost certainly be the end of Pelosi’s career in any meaningful sense.
She may be able to retain power, but she will not have the trust of many moderate Democrats once Trump is able to make his case.
Polls show that voters oppose removing President Trump from office.
And voters haven’t even had the opportunity to see Trump’s case presented in a fair court that isn’t controlled by radical Democrats.
Once Trump gets that opportunity, it is game over for Democrats.
