Robert Mueller is about to finish his two-year long witch hunt against President Trump.
But the Special Counsel isn’t done yet.
Mueller just played his ace card to impeach President Trump.
Robert Mueller is hell-bent on ruining Donald Trump’s life and possibly even seeing him removed from office as President.
And the Special Counsel has spent the past two years building a case to do just that.
But while numerous outlets are reporting that Mueller is nearing the end of his investigation, he’s got one more ace card to play in order to force impeachment proceedings against Trump.
And that ace card is named “Michael Cohen”.
The former personal lawyer to Donald Trump was sentenced to three years in prison in December for multiple counts of lying to Congress and for tax evasion. The Manhattan Federal Court Judge who sentenced him to prison called Cohen’s actions a “veritable smorgasbord” of criminal conduct.
Yet Cohen has now aligned himself with Mueller and Congressional Democrats, and the disgraced lawyer is now cooperating with both in an attempt to drag down President Trump with him.
Cohen likely believes that working with Mueller and playing into the Democrats’ narrative that collusion between Trump and the Russian government took place in the 2016 campaign will somehow help him avoid some or all of his prison sentence.
And after months of proposed, scheduled, and then rescheduled events for Cohen to testify to Congress, the convicted felon finally had his chance to speak to Congress and try to take down President Trump.
He bet the farm on destroying the President’s character and integrity in a desperate bid to gain sympathy with Democrats.
And the Democrats were more than happy to play along as they fished for incriminating evidence to use against the President from Cohen’s testimony.
The White House slammed Cohen’s testimony as woefully inaccurate, and pointed to Cohen’s history of lying to prosecutors and Congress.
“Disgraced felon Michael Cohen is going to prison for lying to Congress and making other false statements,” said White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders.
“Sadly, he will go before Congress this week and we can expect more of the same. It’s laughable that anyone would take a convicted liar like Cohen at his word, and pathetic to see him given yet another opportunity to spread his lies,” added Sanders.
Cohen wasted no time in attacking the President and giving Democrats ammunition in order to impeach Trump.
Cohen called Trump a “racist,” a “con-man,” and a “cheat” during his testimony, taking the first half-hour of his time on Wednesday’s testimony to paint President Trump as a despicable human being.
Republicans wasted no time calling out Cohen’s hypocrisy.
Republican Jim Jordan of Ohio, the Ranking Member of the House Oversight Committee, tore into Cohen.
“I want everyone to think about this, the first guy Chairman Elijah Cummings brought before the panel is a guy who is going to prison in two months for lying to Congress,” stated Jordan.
“This might be the first time someone convicted of lying to Congress has appeared again so quickly in front of Congress,” he said.
Mueller and his cheerleaders in the Democratic Party are likely still hoping that the fallout of Cohen’s testimony will be enough for it to trigger the downfall of President Trump however.
