Now those dreams may come true because Michelle Obama may replace Joe Biden as the nominee because of this secret group.
Tara Reade’s credible allegations of sexual assault mushroomed into a scandal Joe Biden could no longer afford to ignore.
That pressure culminated with a disastrous interview on MSNBC where Biden acted like a guilty man in refusing to release his Senate papers being held at the University of Delaware to try and disprove Reade’s claim that she filed a complaint against Biden back in 1993.
The interview also flew off the rails when Biden could not answer for why he stated “believe all women” when Christine Blasey Ford stepped forward to accuse Brett Kavanaugh, but now Americans should take his word and not believe Tara Reade.
Democrats’ confidence in Biden plummeted.
A Morning Consult poll found a significant percentage of Democrats – 26 percent – wanted Biden replaced as the nominee.
“Former Vice President Joe Biden’s unequivocal denial of Tara Reade’s sexual assault allegation is considered credible by most Democratic voters, according to a new Morning Consult poll that showed a video of his comment, but more than a quarter of the party’s rank and file nonetheless want the presumptive nominee replaced,” Morning Consult reported.
Morning Consult also found this drop in support for Biden was most pronounced among young voters and Bernie Sanders’ supporters.
“Support for replacing Biden atop the ticket was driven by the party’s youngest voters, a group that mostly backed Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) in the Democratic primary and is more likely to view the former vice president with skepticism. Forty percent of Democrats under the age of 45 said the party should pick a different nominee, compared to 15 percent of those ages 45 and older,” Morning Consult wrote about their poll’s findings.
That’s why few pundits found it surprising that as the Tara Reade scandal grew, a new group popped up to draft Michelle Obama on to the presidential ticket in 2020.
“The Committee to Draft Michelle Obama” filed its paper work with the Federal Election Commission in late March, which would have been days after the Tara Reade allegations first surfaced on journalist Katie Halper’s podcast.
The group produced a memo outlining their goal – which it claims is to “draft” Michelle Obama as the vice presidential nominee.
“The aim of this campaign is to build on the substantial grassroots support for a potential Michelle Obama candidacy and help garner media attention for a vice presidential nominee who has the power to beat Donald Trump,” the memo read.
But many believe that it is a stalking horse for Michelle Obama’s presidential ambitions.
The timing of this group coming online combined with the fact that Democrats postponed their nominating convention and the growing credibility of Tara Reade’s allegations dampening enthusiasm for Joe Biden lead some to believe that this draft committee is the early stage of a plan to swap out Joe Biden for Michelle Obama as the presidential nominee.
