Someone thought they could get away with leaking the Supreme Court draft opinion overturning Roe v. Wade.
That was a bad idea.
And that’s because Megyn Kelly revealed why whoever leaked the Supreme Court ruling made their worst mistake.
POLITICO reporter Josh Gerstein got his hands on a draft opinion of Justice Samuel Alito – joined by Clarence Thomas, Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh, and Amy Coney Barrett – ending the horror of the judiciary imposing abortion on demand on every state in the union.
“We hold that Roe and Casey must be overruled,” Justice Alito ruled. “It is time to heed the Constitution and return the issue of abortion to the people’s elected representatives.”
POLITICO reported that the Alito draft opinion was circulated on February 10 and may not be the final opinion delivered when the court issues its ruling at the end of the term.
“The document, labeled as a first draft of the majority opinion, includes a notation that it was circulated among the justices on Feb. 10. If the Alito draft is adopted, it would rule in favor of Mississippi in the closely watched case over that state’s attempt to ban most abortions after 15 weeks of pregnancy,” POLITICO also reported.
However, POLITICO did report that none of the five justices wavered in their vote to overturn Roe v. Wade.
Even Chief Justice John Roberts was furious with the leak and issued a blistering statement attacking the assault on the legitimacy of the Supreme Court.
“To the extent this betrayal of the confidences of the Court was intended to undermine the integrity of our operations, it will not succeed. The work of the Court will not be affected in any way,” Chief Justice Roberts’ statement read. “This was a singular and egregious breach of that trust that is an affront to the Court and the community of public servants who work here.”
But the harshest words for the leaker came from former Fox News Channel host Megyn Kelly.
Kelly slammed the leaker as a woke snowflake that tried to undermine the Supreme Court with an unprecedented link out of ideological zealotry.
Kelly then demanded the leaker face a minimum punishment of losing their law license.
“The pathetic spineless leak of a draft SCOTUS opinion has the feel of something a sad little woke 20-something-year-old would do. The kind of person who thinks their personal agenda is ‘more important.’ Whoever did it should lose their law license,” Kelly wrote on social media.
Many conservatives suspect the leaker fed this story to POLITICO in hopes of inciting mobs on the street and to whip up the corporate media into a frenzy all to pressure one conservative justice into flipping their vote and saving Roe v. Wade from judicial oblivion.
Will this scheme succeed?
Will the authorities discover the identity of the leaker and what punishment will the leaker face if found out?
Those questions remain to be answered.
