And Kash Patel’s FBI just raided a key Democrat senator’s office, and the reason is explosive.
FBI agents raided the offices of Virginia State Senate President L. Louise Lucas, as well as a marijuana dispensary located next door as part of an ongoing federal corruption probe.
“Longtime state Sen. L. Louise Lucas, a major power broker in Virginia politics who stumped for Spanberger on the campaign trail in 2025, is now at the center of a major FBI corruption probe, according to federal law enforcement sources. A federal law enforcement source familiar with the case clarified that the corruption probe was opened by the FBI during the Biden administration. Agents executed court-authorized criminal search warrants at Lucas’ office in Portsmouth, Virginia, on Wednesday, according to federal law enforcement sources. The FBI simultaneously carried out a SWAT-team search of a nearby cannabis dispensary co-owned by Lucas. At least three people were detained during the raids,” Fox News reported.
The media seized on the fact that Lucas was the driving force behind a Virginia ballot referendum that could hand Democrats control of Congress by erasing four GOP-held congressional seats and turning the Commonwealth’s map into a 10-1 Democrat advantage to claim President Trump weaponized the justice system to exact revenge on a political foe.
Lucas’ bellicose attitude towards the redistricting push also led the fake news media to baselessly claim Trump sicced the FBI on a political foe.
“You all started it, and we f—ing finished it,” Lucas posted in response to Texas Senator Ted Cruz calling out the Virginia Democrats’ blatant power grab.
But that story quickly went up in smoke when details emerged that the investigation into Lucas began under Joe Biden.
Lucas is a key ally of Virginia Governor Abigail Spanberger, and Spanberger quickly sought to put distance between herself and Lucas after the raid went down.
“is aware of today’s law enforcement operation in Portsmouth,” a spokesperson for Spanberger said, adding that “in the absence of additional details, the Governor will not be commenting on a federal investigation at this time.”
Corruption allegations swirled around Lucas for years, but fellow Virginia elected officials said authorities were afraid to act for fear of Lucas’ vindictive streak.
“Rumors of corruption and pay-to-play politics have long surrounded the Democratic Party’s infrastructure in Virginia. However, no one has been willing to do anything to hold these power brokers accountable,” Virginia state Delegate Wren Williams told Fox News.
“When the chief of police and prosecutor tried to hold Senator Lucas accountable for her actions last time, each was removed from office shortly thereafter,” Williams continued. “Sunlight is the best cure for corruption. I’m sure the Commonwealth of Virginia will be very interested to see what comes of this investigation.”
