Kamala Harris is clearly gearing up for another Presidential campaign.
But this White House bid looks destined for failure, like her previous two attempts.
And Kamala Harris got blitzed with bad news that will crush her 2028 dreams.
Kamala Harris signed a fundraising email for her Fight for the People PAC endorsing Democrat Mary Peltola, who is running for Senate against Republican incumbent Dan Sullivan.
“So if there’s anyone who can flip Alaska and secure the Senate majority for Democrats – it’s Mary. But she cannot do it alone. Mary needs a huge grassroots movement to power her campaign in such a tough race.
Republicans recognize how important this seat is. It’s why they have already dedicated millions of dollars to stop Mary, and they’re using every dirty trick in the book to tilt the scales in their favor….
…we have the power to make a difference in this race too. When we all stand behind Mary, we can give her the boost she needs to overcome their spending and organize across Alaska,” Kamala wrote.
Alaska is one of the GOP seats Democrats are targeting since they need four pickups to seize control of the Senate.
Kamala may want to support Peltola, but Peltola doesn’t want Kamala’s support as she rejected the endorsement out of hand.
“Mary isn’t seeking endorsements from anyone from the Lower 48 – her focus is and always will be Alaska,” a statement from a Peltola spokesperson read. “That’s why she’s proud to have the endorsement of AFGE, the Alaska AFL-CIO, Alaska IBEW Local 1547, and more than 10,000 Alaskans who have signed up to volunteer with the campaign.”
Trump won Alaska by 14 points in 2024.
Peltola knew the lay of the land and refused to endorse Kamala for President when she was running for re-election to Congress, knowing she couldn’t come across as a partisan Democrat in a ruby red state.
“Looking at this presidential race, my position is whoever the president is, that is the person that I am interested in working with to help Alaska move forward,” Peltola said shortly after Joe Biden endorsed Kamala to succeed him. “Whether that president is Donald Trump or if that president happens to be Kamala Harris … there will be a lot of common ground. There will be a lot of things that we collectively agree on.”
The Sullivan campaign argued there was no daylight between the two.
“Kamala Harris supported the Biden administration’s disastrous anti-Alaska agenda, which is why Alaskans rejected her by double digits,” Sullivan spokesperson Nate Adams declared. “Alaskans can see exactly whose team Mary Peltola and Kamala Harris are on, and it isn’t Alaska’s.”
Democrats think the political environment in 2026 and 2028 will shift in their favor.
But Mary Peltola adopting the same indifferent stance towards Kamala Harris today that she did in 2024 suggests Democrats actually running for office believe little has changed.
