Donald Trump shook up Washington when he hired John Bolton as his new National Security Advisor.
And Bolton immediately took aim at the Deep State.
During an interview, he put all the Deep State saboteurs on notice with just six words.
Bolton joined Fox News Channel’s Martha McCallum and unleashed on the leakers who have schemed to undermine the duly elected President of the United States.
Bolton declared that “they should be ashamed of themselves.”
The Daily Caller reports:
“Newly-named National Security Advisor John Bolton said on Fox News Thursday that leaks from the White House are “unacceptable” and that leakers should be ashamed of themselves.
Bolton gave an interview to Fox News’ Martha MacCallum shortly after President Donald Trump announced that Bolton would be replacing H.R. McMaster as national security advisor. Bolton decried the number of leaks coming out of the White House.
“When I read about the leak of the notes and the subject of the conversation, I was outraged by it,” Bolton said of news that Trump ignored advice not to congratulate Russian president Vladimir Putin on his electoral victory. “I mean, it recalled earlier in the administration when somebody was leaking transcripts of the president’s conversations with foreign leaders. It’s completely unacceptable.”
“You cannot conduct diplomacy, you cannot expect other foreign leaders to be candid and open in their conversations with the president if some munchkin in the executive branch decides they’re going to leak the talking points of the transcript or any other aspect of it,” he declared. “I think this is really a terrible reflection on the individual or individuals who did this. They should be ashamed of themselves.”
Bolton was referencing the outrageous leak of President Trump’s briefing notes after he had called Russian President Vladimir Putin and congratulated him on his victory.
Someone leaked the notes which had written in big bold letters, “DO NOT CONGRATULATE.”
Trump was simply being polite and did what other world leaders – including Barack Obama – had done.
The leaker undermined Trump because they disagreed with the decision.
But staff is there to make recommendations and present options.
It is up to the President to decide on a course of action.
This was just one example of the Deep State trying to kneecap Trump.
At one point in his Presidency, there was an average of one national security leak per day.
Trump supporters will be thrilled if Bolton can restore order on the National Security Council and purge the group of Deep State loyalists who are leaking to hurt the President.
