Democrats and members of the fake news media are already preparing for Joe Biden’s inauguration.
They consider the 2020 election in the bag.
But Joe Biden was just hit with this incredibly bad news that rocked his campaign to the core.
Joe Biden’s strength in this campaign is his aura of inevitability.
Democrats do not list Biden as their first choice for President out of love for him or his positions on Democratic issues.
The lack of enthusiasm for Biden personally is evidenced by the fact that the former Vice President struggles to draw even 100 people to the few campaign events he’s held.
It’s his name recognition and perceived electability that have Democrats supporting Biden.
That’s why Biden finds himself in first place in all the national and early state polls of Democrat voters.
But that could all be about to change.
For the first time in his Presidential campaign, Biden finds himself in second place.
A brand new poll out of Minnesota showed Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren ahead of Biden.
The Change Research survey of Minnesota Democrats found:
This is just one poll.
And Minnesota is not one of the “big four” early states of Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina and Nevada.
But this poll does confirm that Biden has a problem with the Democrat base and that Warren is surging.
Political campaigns sometimes end on one pivotal moment.
Former Vermont Governor Howard Dean never recovered after the “Dean scream” following his disappointing third place finish in the 2004 Iowa Democrat caucus.
But more often than not, campaigns end in a slow slide into oblivion following a death by a thousand cuts.
Warren topping Biden in Minnesota could be the latest in a series of body blows that will eventually cripple Biden’s campaign.
And this poll comes on the heels of a week that pundits – including former Obama chief strategist David Axelrod – described as a disaster for Biden.
Biden took three different positions on taxpayer funding for abortion in the span of 48 hours.
The former Vice President saw his Democrat rivals pile on after he reaffirmed his support for the Hyde Amendment – which blocks taxpayer funding for abortion except in cases of rape or incest – after telling a woman on a rope line that he no longer supported it.
After absorbing a day’s worth of pounding, Biden flip-flopped again and came out in full support of taxpayer funding for abortion.
This episode demonstrated that the former Vice President is not the favorite of the activist base.
If Warren or Bernie Sanders can consolidate the liberal vote, they could stitch together a coalition to defeat Biden in Iowa.
At that point, Biden’s campaign would collapse like a house of cards.
And while that moment is a long way off, it became one step closer to reality thanks to the poll out of Minnesota.
