Jen Psaki is the public face of the Biden administration.
But the clock is ticking on Psaki’s time in that role.
And Jen Psaki is about to leave Joe Biden for this job that no one ever expected.
Last May, Psaki told CNN’s David Axelrod that she did not plan to stay in the administration much more than a year.
“I think it’s going to be time for somebody else to have this job in a year from now or about a year from now,” Psaki stated on Axelrod’s podcast. “I don’t want to miss time with them [her children]. I don’t want to miss moments. I don’t want to miss things, and I’m very mindful of that as well.”
At the time Biden’s approval ratings were still above 50 percent and Psaki probably thought she would glide out of the administration on a high note.
But not anymore.
The world is on fire thanks to Joe Biden’s disastrous agenda, and polls show Democrats set up for a thumping in the midterms.
Now Psaki would slink out of the White House as the mouthpiece of a rejected administration.
But thanks to Psaki’s allies in the corporate media, Psaki will find a soft landing spot as a TV host with a multi-million-dollar contract.
“Psaki intends to leave the White House at some point this year and, according to sources familiar with her thinking, intends to go into television news—not as a contributor, but as a host,” Puck News’s Dylan Byers reported.
CNN and MSNBC are the frontrunners with Byers reporting that CBS and ABC are holding “feverish” interest in signing up Psaki.
“Her lunch meetings with the CNN and MSNBC executives, which also included her agent Jay Sures, were the opening salvo in what is likely to be a long effort by several networks to court the woman who could potentially become the next big star in television news,” Byers reported.
CNN and MSNBC are looking to Psaki to anchor their primetime lineup.
“The discussions with CNN and MSNBC are in early stages, which means that the contours of Psaki’s television career are still taking shape. But sources familiar with these early conversations say there could be a natural progression from Psaki’s role in the briefing room to her job as cable news host,” Byers wrote.
MSNBC has desperate need for Jen Psaki.
Rachel Maddow signed a new $30 million a year contract that saw Maddow give up her nightly show to focus on streaming projects and films.
Maddow is the highest-rated anchor on MSNBC and Psaki would likely be the only replacement with the star power to build and maintain an audience.
It’s not surprising that multiple corporate media outlets – all of whom have correspondents sitting in the front row of the White House press briefing room – would slobber over the idea of signing Psaki.
But it also confirms that corporate media and Democrat administrations are revolving-door operations where liberals can seamlessly transition from one to the other.
