James Comey is one of the most hated men in America.
And after being fired by President Trump, he couldn’t imagine things could get any worse.
But Comey just got thrown under the bus by the last person he expected.
James Comey shocked the world in 2016 when he read off a list of countless transgressions Hillary Clinton committed when mishandling classified information and illegally storing them on a personal server in her home.
But when Comey announced there would be no charges against her, people were left even more stunned than before.
Since then, Comey has revealed himself to be a political chameleon. He then announced to Congress shortly before the election that he would be looking into other potentially illegal activity, which enraged Democrats who still blame him for Clinton’s loss.
But then Comey just exonerated Clinton a second time, proving to Republicans that he can’t be trusted to seek justice and apply the laws of the United States equally.
If any other ordinary citizen did what Hillary Clinton did, they would be in prison today, but Comey chose to let that go.
Comey has decided to throw his lot in almost entirely with Democrats now, and he even donated money to Democratic candidates running for Congress in 2018.
But his past continues to haunt him, in particular over his botched investigation into Clinton’s email server.
And now he’s facing fire from the last people he expected.
Breitbart reports, “Andrew McCabe, the disgraced former acting FBI director, conceded in his new book that James Comey’s infamous decision to hold a press conference to announce no charges against Hillary Clinton in her email case worked to ‘erode the credibility of the FBI.’”
Andrew McCabe was fired from his post as Deputy Director of the FBI by President Trump after it was revealed that he had lied to the Justice Department multiple times.
He had previously been criticized for mishandling the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s email server, with some evidence even suggesting that he had been working on an “insurance policy” with other members of the FBI in the event that Trump actually won the 2016 election.
However, while McCabe has multiple problems of his own, his revelation that Comey’s actions in the decision to not charge Hillary Clinton or anyone on her team with mishandling classified information ruins Comey’s reputation.
Comey was already considered one of the worst FBI directors in history, but this stab in the back from someone who had previously been a trusted ally cemented his legacy in a bad way.
And now its clear that Comey really did give Clinton a pass in a way that almost no one else in America would have gotten.
“Had I thought this whole thing through more skeptically, had I been more resistant to Comey’s idea that he could make this statement in a way that connected with people both inside and outside the organization…then perhaps I would have said to Comey, Don’t do it,” McCabe says in his latest book.
Do you think James Comey made a mistake in not bringing charges against Hillary Clinton?
