Disgraced former FBI Director James Comey made it his mission to take down President Trump.
That decision backfired big time.
And James Comey made one bad move that caused Donald Trump to shout checkmate.
Federal prosecutors indicted James Comey for a second time.
Comey isn’t facing charges for lying to Congress or conspiring in the Russia collusion hoax.
Prosecutors likely declined to indict Comey on those charges because it meant bringing a case in Democrat-dominated D.C., where there is little to no chance a Democrat judge and jury would have convicted Comey or run a fair trial.
Instead, prosecutors indicted Comey in North Carolina for making threats against Trump and transmitting them over state lines when he posted a picture to Instagram of seashells arranged to spell out “86 47.”
“86” is a gangland slang for killing a rival.
The indictment alleged that Comey “did knowingly and willfully make a threat to take the life of, and to inflict bodily harm upon, the President of the United States, in that he publicly posted a photograph on the internet social media site Instagram which depicted seashells arranged in a pattern making out ’86 47,’ which a reasonable recipient who is familiar with the circumstances would interpret as a serious expression of an intent to harm the President of the United States.’
The news for Comey got worse from there, as journalist Paul Sperry reported that authorities issued an arrest warrant for Comey, meaning that U.S. Marshals will slap cuffs on Comey and take him into custody.
“An arrest warrant has been issued for former FBI Director James Comey for multiple federal grand jury charges in North Carolina related to an Instagram image he posted last summer, allegedly threatening the president,” Sperry posted on X. “US Marshals will execute the arrest.”
“Comey publicly claimed at the time that he did not create the threatening ’86 47′ image but merely stumbled on it while walking on the beach and photographed it,” Sperry added. “It’s not clear what he told federal agents who interviewed him about it.”
Comey responded by proclaiming his innocence and telling his liberal supporters to “keep the faith.”
“Well, they’re back. This time, about a picture of seashells on a North Carolina beach a year ago. And this won’t be the end of it, but nothing has changed with me,” Comey said in a video posted online. “I’m still innocent. I’m still not afraid. And I still believe in the independent federal judiciary.”
“So let’s go,” Comey went on to say. “But it’s really important that all of us remember this is not who we are as a country. This is not how the Department of Justice is supposed to be, and the good news is, we get closer every day to restoring those values. Keep the faith.”
The charges against Comey came as the Department of Justice stepped up accountability efforts, with Todd Blanche stepping into the Acting Attorney General role after President Trump fired Pam Bondi.
In addition to the charges against Comey, the Justice Department indicted a Dr. Fauci associate for evading federal records requests laws for documents about the origins of the coronavirus, and the FBI carried out raids of 22 mostly Somali-owned businesses in Minneapolis as part of Vice President Vance’s anti-fraud task force crackdown.
